Nghe An Trade Union makes breakthroughs through patriotic emulation movement.
Following the sacred teachings of President Ho Chi Minh: "Competition is patriotism, and patriotism requires competition," over the past five years (2020-2025), the patriotic emulation movement among workers, civil servants, and laborers in Nghe An province has become an unceasing flame, spreading strongly and making a practical contribution to the overall development of the province.

The impact and influence of the emulation movement.
Recognizing that emulation is not just about slogans but about concrete actions, over the past five years, trade unions at all levels in Nghe An have proactively innovated their implementation methods, creating new vitality for traditional movements. These movements have been flexibly concretized, focusing on solving urgent problems within units and enterprises.
Accordingly, the Provincial Labor Union has implemented a diverse system of movements closely aligned with political tasks and the lives of workers and employees, such as: "Excellent Workers, Creative Workers," "Studying to improve educational and professional qualifications to meet the requirements of integration and development"; "For the poor, no one is left behind"; "Officials and employees of Nghe An province compete to implement workplace culture"; "The whole country joins hands to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses"... These movements have made significant contributions to building a strong political system throughout the province, ensuring the maintenance and development of production under difficult conditions, and helping the Provincial Labor Union to excellently fulfill the emulation criteria set for the 2020-2025 period.

If solidarity is the foundation, then "Excellent and Creative Labor" is the brightest highlight in the emulation movements during the 2020-2025 period. This emulation movement has yielded 92,018 initiatives and scientific research projects at all levels, applied to production and work, generating hundreds of billions of dong in benefits for agencies, units, and enterprises; the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor awarded Certificates of Creative Labor to 147 individuals. This is where the intellect, experience, and aspirations of workers and employees are unleashed, bringing enormous socio-economic benefits. The value of the movement lies not only in the quantity but also in the quality of each initiative and technical improvement solution.
A prime example is Mr. Cao Minh Hoa, Technical Director of TH Milk Joint Stock Company, with his initiative "Automatic Robot System for Loading Milk Cartons into Boxes." This is a solution applying modern automation technology, freeing up manual labor, and improving the accuracy and speed of product packaging. This initiative has been recognized for its direct benefits exceeding 11 billion VND for the company. Similarly, the team of authors Nguyen Thanh Tinh and Hoang Gia Thanh from Nhat Huy Stone Processing Joint Stock Company (Dien Chau commune) successfully researched and implemented the initiative "Solution to Improve the Production Efficiency of QUARTZ SLAB." This optimizes the artificial stone production process, improves product quality, and minimizes waste. The benefits of this solution after only 5 months are impressive, demonstrating the immediate effectiveness of applying the initiative to production. Or take the example of worker Hoa Van Tan from Minh Anh - Kim Lien Company, who has 157 initiatives of varying sizes, generating billions of dong in profits…

Furthermore, in the nationwide emulation movement to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses, during the 2020-2025 period, the Provincial Labor Union supported the construction and repair of 34-40 "Union Shelter" houses annually. Over the past five years, it has supported the construction and repair of 189 "Union Shelter" houses for union members in difficult circumstances, with a total amount exceeding 8 billion VND. During the 2020-2024 period, 56,123 female workers and employees in Nghe An were honored for "Excellence in work and family responsibilities." Of these, 30 women received Certificates of Merit from the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor, and 250 women received Certificates of Merit from the Provincial Labor Union…
Throughout its term, the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor awarded 25 Emulation Flags, 151 collective Certificates of Merit, 790 individual Certificates of Merit; 4 Nguyen Duc Canh Awards and 4 Emulation Fighters at the general level.
Thanks to these coordinated efforts, from 2020 to 2024, the Provincial Labor Union consistently exceeded its emulation targets: In 2024, the Provincial Labor Union completed and surpassed 32 out of 32 provincial targets and 12 out of 12 targets set by the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor; and was awarded a Certificate of Merit by the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor. These achievements have created a strong overall impact.
The emulation movement with a new mission
Entering the 2025-2030 period, Nghe An province has set a major goal of striving to become a relatively prosperous province nationwide. This aspiration requires the workforce to demonstrate a new spirit and determination to meet higher demands for human resource quality and production efficiency.

“The direction of emulation in this period focuses on core movements: “Excellent Workers, Creative Workers”, “Innovation, Creativity, Efficiency” in trade union activities, “Green - Clean - Beautiful, Ensuring Occupational Safety and Health”, “Excellent in National Affairs, Competent in Family Affairs” and “Studying to Improve Cultural and Professional Levels”. The emulation and reward system is thoroughly reformed, promoting the spirit of solidarity, creativity, and pioneering spirit of union members and workers. In particular, the application of digital technology in managing, evaluating, and summarizing the movement is a prerequisite to ensure widespread, practical, and appropriate dissemination to each target group,” said Mr. Nguyen Chi Cong, Vice Chairman of the Provincial Federation of Labor.
To realize the strategic goals for 2025-2030, the Provincial Labor Union has identified a comprehensive and focused system of tasks and solutions. This includes requiring labor unions at all levels to proactively develop plans and launch emulation campaigns from the beginning of the year, closely adhering to the political tasks and socio-economic development plans of each unit. The organization and registration of emulation agreements must be flexible in form and method, suitable to each industry, type of enterprise, and grassroots union. Simultaneously, the inspection and supervision of the implementation of labor laws, the Trade Union Law, and related policies and regulations concerning union members must be strengthened to ensure the legitimate rights and interests of union members.workers.

At the same time, trade union organizations at all levels must strengthen propaganda to raise awareness and transform the emulation movement into a conscious and regular responsibility of each individual. The content of the propaganda should focus on President Ho Chi Minh's patriotic emulation ideology and include specific solutions for key emulation movements.
Sharing his thoughts on future innovations in the emulation movement, Mr. Kha Van Tam, a member of the Provincial Party Committee and Chairman of the Provincial Federation of Labor, said: “To ensure the movement achieves tangible results, the inspection and supervision of the evaluation and awarding of emulation prizes must always be open, transparent, and democratic, and awards must be given accurately and appropriately. In particular, all levels of trade unions must adhere to the key principle of prioritizing awards for workers, civil servants, and employees who do not hold managerial positions, and for direct laborers. At the same time, all levels of trade unions must truly save on administrative expenses and allocate funds for rewarding high-achieving collectives and individuals, creating adequate material and spiritual motivation. The replication of exemplary models and best practices will be carried out regularly through monitoring, inspection, timely identification of new factors, and the introduction of learning from good practices and new models.”
