Nghe An Trade Union exchanges operational experiences with Gyeonggi Province Trade Union - Korea
(Baonghean.vn) - In the spirit of cooperation and learning, the Nghe An Provincial Federation of Labor and the Gyeonggi Provincial Union - Korea shared many experiences in union activities in enterprises and taking care of union members and workers.
On the afternoon of September 19, the Provincial Labor Federation held a seminar to exchange experiences in trade union activities with the Gyeonggi Provincial Labor Union - Korea.
Attending the event were comrade Kha Van Tam - Member of the Provincial Party Executive Committee, Chairman of the Provincial Labor Federation, representatives of relevant provincial departments, branches and sectors and a working delegation of the Gyeonggi Provincial Federation of Trade Unions (Korea) led by Mr. Kim Yeun Pung - Chairman of the Korean Federation of Trade Unions, Gyeonggi Provincial Headquarters.
Opening the discussion, comrade Kha Van Tam warmly welcomed the presence of the delegation of the Korean Confederation of Trade Unions in Gyeonggi province, summarizing the good relationship between the two units. Accordingly, Nghe An province and Gyeonggi province signed a Memorandum of Understanding to establish friendly and cooperative relations in 2009 and re-signed in 2014, implementing activities in the fields of economy, culture - society, humanitarian aid, etc.
Gyeonggi is the most populous province in Korea, the backbone of the Seoul region, has the most developed economy in Korea, with heavy industry, textiles, livestock, fisheries, information technology, tourism... and is also the location of global corporations. With such characteristics, Gyeonggi province is also the place where manyVietnamese workersand Nghe An come here to live and work. Currently, Nghe An province has 4,961 workers working in Korea (from 2018 to present).
In recent times, the Trade Unions of the two provinces have carried out many activities to strengthen their cooperative relationship. During the Covid-19 outbreak, Nghe An Trade Union received practical support gifts from the Gyeonggi Provincial Trade Union Federation.
At the seminar, the two units discussed a number of issues such as the organizational structure of the Korean Trade Union, experience in trade union activities in Korean enterprises, and regulations and experience in protecting Korean Trade Union officials.
This is also an opportunity for the two units to discuss issues related to Vietnamese workers in Korea. Specifically, the regulations and policies of the Korean Government on recruiting Vietnamese workers; The situation of Vietnamese workers in Gyeonggi-doKorea; The right to join the Union for Vietnamese workers in Korea...
In the coming time, the two units will coordinate to organize many activities to strengthen the relationship and care for and protect the rights of workers.
