Vinh University Trade Union organizes Vietnam Education Trade Union Model Congress

(Baonghean.vn) - On the morning of June 15, the 38th Congress of Vinh University Trade Union (term 2017 - 2022) was solemnly held with the participation of 150 official delegates representing more than 1,000 cadres, lecturers, and civil servants of the school. This is also a model congress of the Vietnam Education Trade Union.

In the 2013-2017 term, Vinh University Trade Union and its departments' trade unions have proactively implemented the Resolution of the 32nd Congress, closely following the themes and tasks of each school year. At the same time, working with authorities at all levels, they have innovated the thinking, content, and methods of the Trade Union's activities, focusing on effectively performing the function of representing and protecting the legitimate and legal rights and interests of teachers and employees in the school.

In addition, trade unions at all levels, teachers and workers in the school actively carry out emulation movements and campaigns such as the emulation movements "Innovation and creativity in teaching and learning", "Each class hour is a step forward in teaching, each day at school is an innovation in work", "Support education in mountainous areas, remote areas, and areas with special difficulties"... Thereby, creating great motivation, contributing to overcoming difficulties, solving urgent problems of the industry, improving the effectiveness of education and training.

During the term, 3 teachers were awarded the title of professor, 17 teachers met the standards and were awarded the title of associate professor, 125 teachers successfully defended their doctoral theses... In addition, nearly 2,000 teachers chaired and participated in scientific research projects at the State, Ministry and School levels, 1,636 scientific articles by union members were published in domestic and foreign journals.

In addition, the union has coordinated with the school to donate and support over 5.7 billion VND to units and individuals facing many difficulties.

Speaking at the Congress, Dr. Vu Minh Duc - Chairman of the Vietnam Education Trade Union highly appreciated the efforts of the Vinh University Trade Union in recent years. In the coming term, facing the requirements of development and international integration of the country, the fundamental and comprehensive innovation of the education sector according to Resolution 29, he hoped that the school's trade union would continue to innovate its thinking, awareness, content, and methods of operation to better promote the role and responsibility of the trade union organization.

The Congress elected 15 delegates to the Executive Committee of Vinh University Trade Union for the 2017-2022 term. Dr. Pham Thi Binh, lecturer, President of the Trade Union of the Faculty of Political Education, was elected President of Vinh University Trade Union.

On this occasion, the Vietnam Education Trade Union also awarded 10 certificates of merit to 10 individuals with outstanding achievements in trade union work for the 2013-2017 term.
