Few people know that this valuable medicine, which treats 10 diseases at once, is inexpensive and widely available in Vietnam.

The Chinese have a saying: "The best hospital is your kitchen." In fact, many spices and foods in our kitchens are known as precious medicines. Onions are one of them.

Vietnamese shallots are also known as green onions, spring onions, or spring onions. Traditional Chinese medicine considers Vietnamese shallots as a medicinal herb and calls them "tong bai".

This type of onion has a pungent, warm taste, is non-toxic, and helps to dispel wind and cold, stimulate sweating to lower fever, detoxify, improve blood circulation, and reduce swelling and edema.

The medicinal uses of onions have been known for centuries. In particular, this spice is an excellent remedy for boosting health in the spring.

Treats colds and flu.

Prepare 3-5 shallots, wash them thoroughly, cut them into pieces, and boil them in water (you can add 3 slices of fresh ginger). Drink while still hot; sweating will help alleviate the symptoms.

Alternatively, you can take a piece of green onion, crush it to extract the juice, and drink it in several portions; this will also achieve a similar effect.

You can also chop up some shallots and put them in hot water to steam your nose. Or, boil the shallots and drink the decoction three times a day for about 2-3 days to see results.

Treating cholera

Use 20g of shallots and 20 jujubes, boil them with 3 liters of water. When the water has reduced to about 2 liters, turn off the heat. Drink immediately throughout the day for best results.

Treating swollen and painful wounds.

Chop up whole onions with their roots intact, crush them, and apply the paste to the painful area to reduce swelling, edema, blood stasis, and pain.

Acne treatment

Prepare the shallots and honey. Wash the shallots, let them dry, then crush them and mix them with the honey.

After thoroughly washing your face, apply the mixture to the acne-affected areas. After about 15 minutes, rinse your face off. Do this 2-3 times a week, and your acne will significantly improve.

Boil onions with their roots in water until the liquid is very concentrated, then pour it into a basin and sit in it to soak 1-2 times a day.

For external hemorrhoids, crush onion leaves, squeeze out the juice, add honey, stir well, and cook it before applying it to the hemorrhoids. The remaining onion pulp should be applied daily.

Treating bedwetting in young children

Prepare 3 shallots with roots (about 5cm long) and 30g of sulfur. Grind both ingredients into a paste and apply it to the navel, securing it with adhesive tape or gauze for 8 hours before removing it.

This method will help warm the meridians, dispel cold, clear the bladder, and effectively treat bedwetting in young children.

Treating stomach pain and cold hands and feet.

For adults experiencing abdominal pain, cold extremities, blue lips, and a weak pulse, take a handful of shallots (remove roots and leaves), heat the bulb, and place it on the navel. Then, apply a hot water bottle on top. Replace the shallots when they become soft and mushy.

After a while, the heat will penetrate, warming the hands and feet, causing a slight sweat, and then the ailment will be cured. Next, take a piece of dried ginger about the size of two thumbs, chop it finely, and boil it in water to drink.

Treats colds, fever, and headaches.

When suffering from a cold, fever, and headache, take 20 sprigs of green onions, cut off the green leaves, and keep the stems. Add a little rice and 5 thick slices of ginger, cook into a porridge, and eat it hot.
