Cong Minh and the low notes"...

(Baonghean) - Having decided to play one or two more seasons before retiring and settling permanently in Hai Phong, former national team player Cong Minh's career was once again cut short. Due to a failure to reach an agreement with the Hai Phong team, the two sides parted ways just before the 2015 season. This marked another low point in Cong Minh's career, following the horrific injury he suffered at the 25th SEA Games in Laos.

Cong Minh is from Xuan Son commune, Do Luong district. He has a talent for football and joined SLNA from a young age.

However, Minh's career up to this point has been a long story with many low points. Following an injury sustained at the 25th SEA Games in Laos, Cong Minh had to work very hard to return to football. After recovering from his injury at the 2009 SEA Games, his hometown team, out of concern, loaned him to Hanoi Football Club. After much effort and some degree of stability, Chairman Kien was arrested, the team disbanded, and Cong Minh had to find a new club.

Minh had a trial with DT.LA for a while, but due to persistent knee problems following an injury, he suffered pain and lost points, and the collaboration between the two sides also failed, despite the Mekong Delta team's initial willingness to cooperate. In the 2014 season, after proving his fitness, Cong Minh was signed by QNK. Quang Nam to a two-year contract.

But for various reasons, Cong Minh once again didn't get regular playing time. Disappointed, and primarily dissatisfied with the way QNK.Quang Nam treated him, he requested an early termination of his contract and returned to his wife's hometown team (Hai Phong). He joined the Hai Phong team for half a season, receiving no signing bonus, only a monthly salary. He accepted this because he got more playing time and, importantly, a chance to be close to and care for his wife and children.

Currently, the couple has built a spacious house and started a business to earn extra income. The former Vietnam U23 midfielder said he wants to continue contributing to Hai Phong for both professional and behind-the-scenes reasons. On October 5th, when the team reconvened, Cong Minh and Hai Phong officially sat down to discuss his contract, and as a result, the midfielder from Nghe An agreed to continue playing for the Hai Phong team in the 2015 season. Cong Minh participated in training sessions and pre-season training camps, leaving his mark.

However, before the start of the 2015 V.League season, disagreements arose between Hai Phong and Cong Minh regarding related interests, leading to their decision to part ways. Many felt sorry for Cong Minh, as he had many advantages at Hai Phong.

It's a shame, because when Công Minh chose Hai Phong, he hoped for a secure contract so he could continue to contribute with peace of mind. He wanted to be with Hai Phong, where his wife and children live and where he'd settle after retirement, so his desire, responsibility, and level of dedication would undoubtedly be immense. For Hai Phong, after losing key players, having dedicated players like Công Minh who are willing to commit long-term to the team would be a good solution. But football is full of unexplained behind-the-scenes stories, and the reality is that at the last minute, Hai Phong and Công Minh couldn't reach an agreement.

After unexpectedly leaving Hai Phong, Cong Minh was unable to find a team to continue his career and had to accept unemployment during this period. Following an injury at the SEA Games in Laos, despite his best efforts, his career remained uncertain. At 27, Minh stated that he still has a strong desire to play football and is in contact with potential clubs to return in the second half of the 2015 season. Hopefully, Cong Minh will soon find a new team so that he can enjoy a fulfilling final year of his career, after the turbulent years he has experienced in professional football.
