(Baonghean.vn) - In response to the "Workers' Month" in 2017, on April 28th, the Yen Thanh District Labor Union organized a competition for preparing canteen meals for officials and employees of 12 companies and enterprises in the area.

Twelve teams participated in the competition, which consisted of two parts: preparing, presenting, and giving a presentation on a meal for 10 people with a budget of no more than 200,000 VND.

Mid-shift meals for workers in companies and businesses play a crucial role, directly affecting the health of workers as well as labor productivity; the competition is a practical activity that provides an opportunity for union officials and members to showcase their talents in taking care of mid-shift meals.

Regarding the District Labor Union, in the coming period, it will direct grassroots trade unions to strengthen the inspection and supervision of workers' meals at enterprises, striving to raise the meal allowance for workers to 13,000 - 14,000 VND/meal in 2017, and to reach 15,000 VND/meal by the end of 2018, in accordance with the spirit of Resolution 7C of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor.
