Princess Kate makes her first public appearance with her baby prince
Seven hours after giving birth, Princess Kate carried her newborn son and her husband out of the hospital to greet fans before returning to Kensington Palace.
At around 6 p.m. on April 23, the Duchess of Cambridge and her son appeared outside St Mary's Hospital in London, where international reporters and fans were gathering to welcome the new member of the royal family.
Dressed in a red dress, Kate held her 3.8kg baby boy, wrapped in a white towel, and smiled brightly for photos with her husband. After waving to fans, the royal couple returned inside before appearing again. This time, William carried the baby boy's cradle and placed it on the back seat of the car, according toTelegraph.

William excitedly replied to reporters that he was "very happy, very excited" and did not forget to thank the public for their attention.
Kensington Palace also posted a picture of the royal couple on Twitter with the caption: "Welcome to the family."
Earlier, at around 4:45 p.m., Prince George and Princess Charlotte were taken to the hospital by their father to see their younger brother before being taken home through the back door.

In a statement, Kensington Palace said: "The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge would like to thank the hospital staff for their care and treatment. They would also like to thank everyone for their warm wishes."
Princess Kate gave birth to a healthy son at around 11am on April 23 after showing signs of labor and was taken to the Lindo Wing, St Mary's Hospital at 6am. The boy is Queen Elizabeth II's sixth great-grandchild and fifth in line to the British throne./.
