After the welcoming ceremony to honor the U23 Vietnam players in Vinh City on the night of January 30, player Cong Phuong returned home at midnight. On the morning of January 31, the People's Committee of Do Luong district sent a car to pick him up and take him to town to prepare for the congratulatory ceremony in My Son commune.
At more than 10am on January 31, Cong Phuong was present at the People's Committee of My Son commune, welcomed by thousands of people with flags, banners... As soon as he got out of the car, people immediately surrounded him. Cong Phuong happily took pictures with everyone. And throughout the welcoming ceremony until the end, Cong Phuong was always "followed" by fans to the point of not being able to move. At times, the security force had to "break the siege" and lead him to another way...

30 minutes later, the leaders of Do Luong district had to arrange a "fake" path in front, so that people could gather there and lead Cong Phuong to the car through the kitchen door. However, as soon as he got out of the crowd, people immediately surrounded him. With great difficulty, Cong Phuong got into the car to get out.
Mr. Dang Van Tuan (37 years old), a resident of My Son commune, said: “Everyone here is familiar with Cong Phuong, but today we are so happy that more people have come than ever before. This is the first time Phuong has been surrounded by so many admirers from his hometown”!
