The Vietnamese striker completed the farewell procedure with the Korean team before going to Thailand to join the King's Cup.

Incheon United sent thanks to Cong Phuong in the announcement on the morning of June 2.

On the morning of June 2, Incheon United announced that they had agreed to release Cong Phuong's contract at his request. All procedures were completed on June 1 before the Nghe An striker went to Thailand to join the Vietnamese team for the 2019 King's Cup.

"Cong Phuong will leave Incheon. We agree with Cong Phuong's request. He wants to find a new challenge in Europe," Incheon United announced. Incheon United said the team will make a video to thank the Nghe An striker for his contributions to the club.

According to Cong Phuong, he is preparing to go to France for a one-month trial from June 15 to July 15. "I wanted to show my best ability in Incheon but I couldn't. I'm very sorry about that. I want to become a successful player when playing abroad. I will never forget the beautiful memories in Incheon. I will always try to do my best wherever I go," Cong Phuong shared.

In the 0-0 draw between Incheon United and Seongnam in the 15th round of the K-League on the afternoon of June 1, Cong Phuong was not registered to play. This is the second consecutive match that Vietnamese striker Cong Phuong was "forgotten" by Yoo Sang-chul, after Incheon won 2-1 against Jeju a few days ago.

Cong Phuong joined Incheon United last February on a one-year loan from HAGL. He played in eight matches but did not score any goals for Incheon and did not have any assists.
