(Baonghean.vn) - On December 9, 2014, under the chairmanship of Mr. Hoang Viet Duong, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, the Provincial People's Committee held a working session with the Steering Committee for Forest Inventory of Nghe An province. Representatives from relevant departments and agencies attended the meeting.

The purpose of the forest inventory is to determine the current status and quality of forests under each specific management authority and administrative unit. Through this inventory, a unified database for monitoring and managing forest resources throughout the province will be established to support forest management, protection, and development. The total estimated cost for the forest inventory is over 62 billion VND. The Forest Inventory Steering Committee aims to complete this work by September 2015.

Overview of the working session

Speaking at the meeting, Mr. Hoang Viet Duong, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, instructed the Department of Agriculture and the Forest Protection Sub-Department to coordinate with relevant departments and agencies to implement the forest inventory work, with the Forest Protection Sub-Department directly leading this task. Departments and agencies need to create the best possible conditions for the lead unit to successfully carry out the forest inventory. During the implementation process, units need to focus on effective communication and training, and adhere to the schedule to complete the forest inventory before September 2015; Regarding the remaining funding shortfall for the forest inventory, the Provincial People's Committee will allocate sufficient resources to implement the work.../.
