(Baonghean.vn) -In a suburban village, the irrigation system serving a safe vegetable production model worth billions of dong has been abandoned for 4 years. Why?
The irrigation system for the safe vegetable field in Hamlet 2, Nghi Lien Commune (Vinh City) was invested by Vinh City in 2011 - 2012. The goal is to provide irrigation water for more than 5 hectares of safe vegetable production model in this hamlet. The items include: monitoring room system, pumping well, underground pipeline, 12 m water tank3, drainage canals and irrigation systems with a total cost of 1.4 billion VND. After more than 4 years, this system is still not operational. |
Over time, water pipes have become damaged and rusted. |
The underground pipes to the fields were buried by the soil. |
Faced with the current situation of the "inactive" water supply system, a unit has stepped in to support people in the production area to build 4 water tanks to wash vegetables after harvest. However, due to lack of synchronization, these tanks are now damaged over time. The faucets do not have shut-off valves, the pipes are broken... |
By 2014, Vinh City had overcome this problem by continuing to support investment in drilling wells in the fields so that people could have water to use. |
Every time they need to water their vegetables, people have to bring pumps and hoses to the fields to have water to use. |
Meanwhile, the suspended water tank does not contain water for irrigation. |
The guard house has been closed for more than 4 years because it has no use value. |
During power outages, people have to manually draw water from a nearby pond to water their crops. And of course, who can be sure that these are safe vegetables? Ms. Pham Thi Thao said: “My family has 3 sao of clean vegetables, each season bringing in an income of about 15 million VND per sao. If the irrigation system works effectively, the yield will be better, and the farmers will have less trouble.” |
Currently, the area of clean vegetable cultivation in Hamlet 2, Nghi Lien Commune is more than 5 hectares with about 30 households growing. And this is one of the safe vegetable growing models that Vinh City has spent a lot of effort and money to implement. |
