Vinamilk Dairy Company is among the fastest growing companies in 2019

This is a ranking to find, honor and promote the most effective and fastest growing businesses - the rising star companies - of the Vietnamese economy. Notably, Vietnam Dairy Cow Company is the only company in the agricultural sector to be in the top 100 of this ranking (78th position).

Currently, in the field of developing milk material areas, Vinamilk is operating and managing 02 subsidiaries, Vietnam Dairy Cow Company and Thong Nhat Thanh Hoa Dairy Cow Company Limited, with 100% capital owned by Vinamilk, and 01 subsidiary in Laos, 51% owned by Vinamilk, Lao-Jagro Development XiengKhouang Co., Ltd.

The main activities of Vietnam Dairy Cow Company are to build, manage and develop Vinamilk's dairy farm system in Vietnam and abroad. As of early 2019, Vietnam Dairy Cow Company is managing 10 international standard dairy farms out of a total of 12 farms across the country of Vinamilk.

Officially established in 2006, in just over 10 years since the start of investing and developing the dairy farm system, the Company has achieved impressive successes, contributing to strong changes and raising the level of development of the dairy farming industry in Vietnam with notable milestones: Launching the first dairy farm in Tuyen Quang province; Inauguration of Nghe An Dairy Farm - the first farm in Southeast Asia to meet Global GAP standards and one of three farms meeting Global GAP international standards in Asia in 2003; Developing organic dairy farming and launching the first European Organic Standard Farm in Vietnam in Da Lat (2017); Developing A2 dairy farming, producing the first 100% A2 fresh milk product in Vietnam (2018); Inauguration of a large-scale dairy "Resort" in Tay Ninh with 8,000 calves (2019).

Currently, the total herd of cows that Vinamilk is managing and exploiting for milk is approximately 130,000 (including 12 Vinamilk farms and farming households that have contracts to supply raw fresh milk to Vinamilk under technical supervision of farming and milk quality testing according to Vinamilk's standards).

These successes show that the model of concentrated livestock farms, applying high technology and comprehensive 4.0 revolution in management and livestock farming is the right investment and development direction to help Vinamilk proactively source raw materials for industrial production. This is also demonstrated through the production and business results of Vietnam Dairy Cow Company in 2018 as follows: Total asset value to date reached approximately 3,200 billion VND, equivalent to 136 million USD; Revenue reached 2,112 billion VND, up 23% compared to 2017; Profit reached 262 billion VND, up 29% compared to 2017; Average output of cows reached 9,526 liters/cow/year.

This output level marks a big step forward in dairy farming activities at Vinamilk farms, equivalent to the milk productivity of cows in developed countries. This result contributes to Vinamilk's raw fresh milk output, which can be supplied to the market on average from 950 - 1,000 tons/day, equivalent to about 5.5 million boxes of fresh milk/day (box capacity 180ml).

Vietnam Dairy Company is also recognized as a High-Tech Agricultural Enterprise. Milk quality is always controlled and meets strict standards of food hygiene and safety. The farm system is certified to meet ISO 9001:2015 management standards, international standards of good agricultural practices Global GAP and European organic standards.

Not only investing in technology, identifying that the dairy farming industry in Vietnam is still young, the Company always considers recruitment, training and human resource development as a key factor for development. The Company has been and is continuing to implement a scholarship program for students with good/excellent university entrance exam results and sending them to Russia for training in dairy farming. Management staff at the farms are sent on field trips and learn from experience, update knowledge and new technology in countries with developed dairy farming industries such as the US, Europe, Australia, New Zealand, Japan, etc.

During the process of building and operating farms, the Company always seeks and coordinates with leading partners in the world dairy farming industry to find the most effective solutions, while developing the professional qualifications of its human resources.
