Solve employment well, ensure social security
Since September 12, 2010, when the first rubber tree was planted at the launching ceremony in Thanh Duc commune, Thanh Chuong district, up to now, not only Thanh Chuong, Anh Son but also on the vast hills of Que Phong district, rubber trees have taken root and grown more and more prosperously.
Overcoming many difficulties, facing harsh weather, whirlwinds, heat, storms, rubber gardens of Nghe An Rubber Investment and Development Joint Stock Company have steadfastly grown green, high growth density, latex yield through pilot exploitation at the end of 2018 reached 650 kg/ha, which proves that rubber trees are qualified to grow in this western land.
Up to now, after more than 8 years, the Company has developed rubber tree area with more than 4,363.52 hectares, of which basic construction rubber (KTCB) of the right age is 4,238.84 hectares and extended rubber is 27.52 hectares.

Que Phong is a mountainous district located among 62 poor districts in the country, with steep terrain, the development of rubber trees here faces many difficulties. However, with efforts and reasonable solutions, at Que Phong Rubber Farm in early 2019, 10 hectares of rubber trees began to be exploited (2 years earlier than expected); by early 2020, the exploitation will continue to expand on an area of about 100 hectares - 120 hectares.
Mr. Nguyen Van Linh - Director of the Farm said: Up to now, the total area of 891.74 hectares of rubber trees located in the 4 communes of Tien Phong, Hanh Dich, Que Son and Muong Noc has developed very well. The farm has 70 workers, of which 62 are ethnic minorities in the area with stable income. Many households taking care of rubber trees also intercrop lemongrass, turmeric, and raise livestock to increase income, such as Mr. Vi Van Hai's household (Team 5), taking care of 30 hectares of rubber trees, also raising nearly 30 cows, intercropping other crops; or Mr. Sam Van Sau's household (Team 3), taking care of 10 hectares of rubber trees, raising dozens of buffaloes and cows, intercropping lemongrass to increase income...
The areas distributed in the 3 districts are all mountainous, remote, ethnic minority areas, infrastructure has been almost uninvested, meanwhile, due to fluctuations in the world rubber consumption market, the selling price of rubber latex has continuously decreased sharply in recent years, leading to a decrease in investment rates, while the prices of materials and consumer goods remain high; Facilities and equipment are still lacking; weather and climate are complex and extreme, causing significant impacts on production progress, increasing investment costs in some stages.

However, the Company has had many policies and guidelines that are close to reality, applied flexibly in management and direction, mass mobilization work is always thoroughly handled, regularly proactively organizing land clearance to have land area for production, completing the annual plan to plant new rubber. At the same time, taking care of the increasingly stable life of workers, completing the target of paying state taxes, social insurance - health insurance - unemployment insurance for workers is fully paid.
“As the project is implemented, local children are recruited to work as workers. Up to now, the total number of official employees of the Company is 327 people, ensuring the area assigned to take care of the basic rubber garden is on average 11.44 hectares/worker, so that workers have regular work of 270 - 280 working days/year. In addition, there are thousands of seasonal workers participating in planting and caring for rubber. 100% of employees are covered by social insurance, health insurance, unemployment insurance, labor insurance and full policies. The average income is 3 million VND/person/month for workers taking care of KTCB rubber and 4.5 million VND/person/month for workers exploiting rubber trees”.
During the development process, the Company structures the varieties suitable to the climate and soil conditions of each locality; organizes new planting and care of KTCB rubber gardens to ensure technical processes, thereby ensuring good quality growth and development of the gardens.
At the working session and inspection in February this year, Mr. Tran Ngoc Thuan - Chairman of the Board of Directors of Vietnam Rubber Industry Group highly appreciated and affirmed that the rubber project in Nghe An has a fast growth rate, the KTCB garden is invested in planting, care to ensure the process, growth rate and development, in the "top" among all gardens of companies in the Central coastal region and the Northern mountainous provinces. In 2018, the company was assigned by the Group to exploit 97.16 hectares, the average latex yield of the garden in the first year reached 600 kg to 700 kg/ha/year and strives for the rubber exploited in the second year to reach 900 kg/ha/year.
Up to now, the company has built more than 312 km of new internal roads for production and 11.5 km of main roads with grade VI standards in mountainous areas in the project districts. The company's production road system is connected to the rural traffic infrastructure system of communes to facilitate the lives and activities of local people; supported digging clean water wells for villages and hamlets in rubber plantation areas and supported the construction of rural roads in Tien Phong commune, Que Phong district...
Moving towards building modern processing lines
Currently, Nghe An Rubber Investment and Development Joint Stock Company is focusing on implementing many solutions, striving to increase the average income of workers annually by 5-10%. At the same time, actively directing the care and protection of the existing 4,363.52 hectares of rubber, gradually improving the quality of the garden; investing reasonably in KTCB rubber gardens to ensure technical processes, and putting them into exploitation soon.

Mr. Pham Trung Thai - Chairman of the Board of Directors of the company, who has been with us since the first days of bringing rubber trees to Nghe An, shared: In 2019, we continue to strive to build the Company towards sustainable and stable development, with better income for employees, ensuring obligations to the State, contributing to maintaining security and order in the area.
The specific goal is to take better care of 4,119 hectares of KTCB rubber; in 2019, the exploited area was 245 hectares, with a yield of 7-8 quintals/hectare; in 2020, the exploited area was 800-900 hectares. “We are currently continuing to sign a contract with a qualified unit to process products when the Company has not yet built a factory. At the same time, we are urgently developing a plan for the proposed location of a processing factory with advanced and modern technology lines to produce products that meet market requirements; training a team of technical staff and workers to serve processing, business, import and export activities,” said Mr. Pham Trung Thai.
