Song Con Sugarcane Joint Stock Company supports farmers with loans to grow sugarcane
Song Con Sugarcane Joint Stock Company is in the sugarcane crushing season. The company also issued a new sugarcane planting policy for the 2024-2025 crop year.
Farmers in Dong Van commune, Tan Ky district have just finished harvesting sugarcane for the 2024 crop. The sugarcane here is both beautiful and has high yield, good sugar reserves, reaching 100-120 tons/ha.
Secretary of Thung Mon hamlet, Dong Van commune - Ms. Nguyen Thi Thanh said: Sugarcane harvest is right at the coldest time and only finished on the 28th of Tet, but Song Con Sugarcane Company supports harvesting, transportation and payment for sugarcane to farmers as soon as the harvest is completed, so people have money to spend on Tet. Thanks to the application of new technology, sugarcane productivity here reaches more than 100 tons/ha.
Right after the harvest and Tet holiday, people go to the fields to prepare the soil for planting new sugarcane. Not only in Dong Van, other localities are currently harvesting sugarcane to ensure the progress of the season. This year's sugarcane yield and output are about 10% higher than in 2024.
Mr. Nguyen Ba Quy - Deputy Director of Song Con Sugarcane Joint Stock Company shared: The sugarcane area in Tan Ky district is currently nearly 6,000 hectares, the productivity of many districts and communes of Tan Ky district reaches over 80 tons/ha; some communes such as Giai Xuan, Tan Hop, Dong Van, Nghia Dong (Tan Ky) reach over 100 tons/ha.
For sugarcane, to make a profit, farmers need to increase productivity and to increase productivity, sugarcane must be intensively cultivated.
Song Con Sugar Factory is ready to create all favorable conditions for farmers to apply science, technology, and machinery to production, prepare the land according to the correct process, and bring mechanization into production from planting, care to harvesting. This year, in Tan Ky district, sugarcane covers the hills and fields, and the weather is favorable, so the yield is high, averaging over 60 tons/ha. The raw sugarcane output of Song Con Sugarcane Joint Stock Company is estimated at over 360,000 tons.
To protect the raw material area, the Company harvests in remote areas first and harvests in a rolling manner. Sugarcane is purchased at VND 1,120,000/ton at the field for sugarcane with a sugar content of 10.0 CCS or higher; VND 1,080,000/ton for sugarcane with a sugar content of 9.0 CCS or higher and the sugarcane price will be adjusted according to the sugar price situation and the prices of the factories.
For concentrated sugarcane growing areas, the yield is from 90 - 120 tons/ha. If the sugarcane price is stable like the previous pressing season, farmers are expected to have an income of 100 - 110 million VND/ha, with an estimated profit of 40 - 50 million VND/ha.

For loans for fertilizers, pesticides and sugarcane sludge: The company lends according to the needs of sugarcane growers. The loan is implemented according to the Investment Loan Process for the 2024 - 2025 crop year of Song Con Sugarcane Joint Stock Company.
