Nghe An Water Supply Joint Stock Company: Bringing clean water to the vicinity of Vinh City

(Baonghean) - Nghe An Water Supply Joint Stock Company currently manages 13 water supply systems in the province with a total capacity of over 100,000 m3/day. Thanks to investing in water supply systems with advanced, modern, and high-capacity water treatment technology, water production plants promptly meet the clean water needs of people and customers. In particular, recently, the company has implemented water supply projects to promptly serve people in the vicinity of Vinh City and industrial parks.

After Vinh City expanded its administrative boundaries, people in many suburban communes and surrounding areas have not had access to clean water. Therefore, investing in clean water supply projects for people and industrial parks is very necessary, so the enterprise has boldly implemented the clean water supply project for the Vinh vicinity in Nam Giang commune (Nam Dan). This important project was built from ODA capital from Finland. The factory has a capacity of 20,000 m3/day with modern European technology and equipment and an operating system from Rockwell - USA. This is one of the top modern clean water factories in Vietnam.

It is known that the clean water production process at the factory is that the raw water source is taken from Lam River and led to the settling pond, then the level 1 pumping station pumps water into the distribution tank and leads to the slow polymer reaction tank, then continues to lead to the lamella settling tank, then transfers to the gravity filter tank, is disinfected with liquid chlorine solution and sent to the storage tank, then the level 2 pumping station will supply to the water supply pipeline system for customers. Thanks to the investment in modern European technology and equipment and the American operating system, each production shift only requires 2 technical staff to operate and directly produce at the factory.

Along with investing in a modern clean water production plant, the Vinh Suburban Water Plant project also expands the water supply pipeline system hundreds of kilometers long (including level 1, level 2 and level 3 pipelines), thereby expanding the clean water supply area for people and units of 13 communes in the benefiting areas of Nam Dan, Hung Nguyen, Nghi Loc districts... In addition, the project also supplies water to VSIP Industrial Park, Nam Cam Industrial Park, Cua Lo Town and participates in supplying clean water to Vinh City.

Mr. Le Duc Thang - Director of Vinh City Suburban Water Supply Enterprise said: “From the beginning of 2017 until now, the Enterprise has connected 1,300 new customers, increasing the total number of customers of the Enterprise to nearly 20,000 customers. At the same time, the Enterprise provides 1.8 million m3 of water to customers in Nam Dan, Hung Nguyen, Nghi Loc districts and 1.9 million m3 of water to the Northeast area of ​​Vinh city. Along with that, the Enterprise also undertakes the work of supplying clean water to projects in Nam Cam Industrial Park, supporting the supply of water to Cua Lo town and especially supporting the supply of about 10,000 m3 of clean water to serve the flushing work of the water supply system of VSIP Nghe An Industrial Park and Service Complex”.

With the effort to invest in providing clean water for people and industrial parks, Nghe An Water Supply Joint Stock Company is currently accelerating the work of connecting and developing customers for residential areas with scarce and polluted water sources such as Nghi Long, Nghi Thuan, Nghi Hoa, Nghi Trung, Nghi Van communes of Nghi Loc district (this area is near Nam Cam Industrial Park and Nghe An Tuberculosis and Lung Hospital); residential areas of hamlets 1, 3, 5, 7 of Hung Chinh commune (Vinh city) (taking water from Hung Nguyen district water plant) and striving from now until the end of 2017, to connect new customers to serve about 1,500 customers. In addition to developing customers according to assigned tasks, the company has supported the People's Committee of Hung Chinh Commune (Vinh City) to establish a project to provide people and parishioners of Hamlet 7, Hung Chinh Commune in building a level 3 pipeline network. Up to now, the construction of the level 3 pipeline network has been completed. It is expected that in August, the company will proceed to connect for about 70 customers who are parishioners of Hamlet 7, Hung Chinh Commune...

However, despite the timely support of relevant levels and sectors in providing clean water to people in the vicinity of Vinh and industrial parks, during its operation, Nghe An Water Supply Joint Stock Company encountered some difficulties such as: In some areas under the management of Vinh Suburban Water Supply Enterprise, people have been installed with water meters, but people do not use water (the rate of households using from 0m3 - 3m3 per month is very high); Upgrading, urban embellishment, and new rural construction lead to the relocation of water supply pipelines, affecting the water supply to people and customers, causing water loss; Hung Nguyen Water Plant was received from Hung Nguyen District People's Committee with the current situation that the machinery and equipment in the treatment area were damaged and needed maintenance and replacement, some filter tanks needed to be repaired, the old pipeline network caused large water loss, and the old water meter had been used for many years and needed to be replaced. In addition, recently, due to the impact of storm No. 2, fallen trees broke many water pipes, causing a power outage for 1.5 days, affecting the water supply for residents and customers...
