The work of dredging the sludge was carried out quite urgently. However, according to an official of this company, “it is not yet determined when the sludge will be completely dredged.”

An urban order officer of Cua Nam ward present at the scene confirmed that the People's Committee of Cua Nam ward did not receive information that Nghe An Water Supply Joint Stock Company organized the pumping of sludge discharged into the regulating lake.

Immediately afterwards, the Working Group of the Environmental Police Department (Nghe An Provincial Police) coordinated with relevant agencies and local authorities to go to the scene to check and confirm that the citizen's reflection was accurate; at the same time, they took mud samples to conduct appraisal and make a record of the incident.
According to the working minutes made at noon on October 21, 2019, at the time of the site inspection, the sludge covered Cua Nam regulating lake with an area of about 300 square meters; using a depth measuring pole, the depth was about 2 meters.
