22-12 Brick and Tile Joint Stock Company, formerly known as Construction Site 55, belonging to Construction Team 22, Military Region IV, was born in the midst of war. The first workers of the construction site were soldiers from all over the country, the children who had fought and died in the two resistance wars against the French and the Americans from the South to the North to build the rear. On the first day of establishment, nearly 1,000 cadres and soldiers were mainly wounded soldiers. After a while, more workers were recruited from the localities of Thanh Chuong, Nghi Loc, Nam Dan, Hung Nguyen (Nghe An), Duc Tho, Huong Son, Nghi Xuan (Ha Tinh). While working and fighting, during this period, the construction site produced 3.5 million handmade bricks each year, mainly serving national defense projects.

On January 1, 1961, Construction Site 55 under the Construction Corps 22 of Military Region IV was transferred to a state-owned economic unit and renamed Brick and Tile Enterprise 22-12. In May 1962, the Enterprise moved from Cau Duoc to Hung Chinh Commune (Hung Nguyen). In June 1968, the American invaders attacked the North more and more fiercely. Following the call of the Party and Uncle Ho, many former cadres and soldiers, along with hundreds of young people of the enterprise, went to the South to fight. At this time, the enterprise had to move to Nghia Trung Commune (Nghia Dan) and a part of it moved to Hung Thai and Hung My Communes (Hung Nguyen). At the end of 1969, the enterprise returned to restore its old location in Hung Chinh Commune (Hung Nguyen).

After 5 years of both production and fighting on the economic front, the officers and soldiers of construction site 55 have constantly promoted the nature of Uncle Ho's soldiers, the strong hands of soldiers used to holding guns, regardless of the sun or rain, to produce quality bricks and tiles. The construction site produced 2.5-3.5 million bricks and tiles in 1960, increasing to 7 million in 1964, to serve the construction of barracks and defense - security works of Military Region IV. The memorable event for the enterprise was that at the end of 1973, the Enterprise was honored to welcome Deputy Prime Minister Do Muoi to visit, the Deputy Prime Minister praised the Enterprise for achieving 3 bests: Least capital, most products; Using equipment with the highest productivity; Best product quality.

In 1975, the country was unified, the whole country moved towards socialism, the Enterprise had a new joy: the German Democratic Republic provided aid for the entire production line of mechanized and automated bricks, increasing the capacity from 7 million bricks/year to 17 - 20 million bricks/year. All the enthusiasm contributed to building a modern factory - the "first-born child" of the construction materials industry in the Central region. In addition to production tasks, the enterprise also faced the difficulties and challenges of the historic flood in 1978 and the storm above level 12 in 1982; at the same time, the difficulties of the early period of the country's renovation in 1986. With intelligence and capacity, the enterprise leaders and employees led the enterprise boat through the rapids of the market mechanism, technological innovation to develop and move forward.

Entering the renovation period, the Enterprise was the first unit in the country to boldly apply the tunnel kiln firing technology of Bulgaria with superior firing technology since the early 1990s. The tunnel kiln saves 40 - 45% of labor, 30 - 40% of fuel and 20% of raw materials. In addition, it also reduces environmental pollution and lowers product costs. By 2003, the 22-12 Brick and Tile Enterprise was transformed from a state-owned enterprise to a joint stock company - this was an appropriate step to promote the enterprise's initiative. Since equitization, the Company has invested tens of billions of VND to build 10,000 m2 of greenhouses for drying raw bricks, innovated investments, replaced raw brick production equipment and labor tools in the direction of modern semi-automatic and automatic production, and repaired tunnel kilns to meet the production requirements of 17-20 million bricks/year. Production and business were effective, revenue increased continuously, if in 2010 it reached 16,830,146 VND, then in 2014 it increased to 26,259,240 VND; profit in 2011 increased 5.94 times compared to 2006; Workers' income in 2016 increased 1.8 times compared to 2011, increased 5.2 times compared to 1999; social insurance, health insurance, material and spiritual life, sightseeing, sports and social security movements were regularly concerned; tax obligations to the State were 100% completed as planned.

Up to now, 22-12 Brick and Tile Joint Stock Company has a modern brick and tile production line with a tunnel kiln with a capacity of 18 - 20 million bricks/year. Over the past 60 years, the Company has produced 740 million bricks and 124 million tiles to supply construction for key projects of the province and local people; as the first child of a large brick factory in the Central region, it is worthy of being the leading flag of the Nghe An construction materials industry.
