During the period from 1980 to 1991, Nghe Tinh Non-Ferrous Metals Joint Stock Company faced difficult beginnings, but with the determination of its staff and workers, the company gradually established a solid position. During this period, the company focused on accelerating the construction of projects. As a result of 10 years of investment and basic construction management, the company built a complete infrastructure system including roads, electricity lines, hospitals, schools, and office buildings. It also constructed small, semi-mechanized sorting plants in Chau Cuong, Pieng To (Chau Hong), Ban Hat (Chau Tien), Khe Do, and a tin refining line with a capacity of 150 tons/year, later upgraded to 500 tons/year, and currently at 800 tons/year. Company staff and workers still remember the year 1993, when the company suffered a loss of 3.916 billion VND.

In this situation, under the leadership of the Ministry of Industry and the Vietnam Mineral Corporation, the company's leadership and employees united and worked together to implement a combination of effective solutions to stabilize production, such as: reducing the number of subsidiary units, reducing indirect staff, reorganizing labor, innovating internal management mechanisms, saving costs, increasing labor productivity, reducing production costs; diversifying industries and products to create jobs and income for workers.

From 2005 to 2009, in the context of expanding international economic integration, the company increased investment, enhanced production capacity, modernized equipment and technology, deepened product processing, and diversified its product lines. It invested in exploration and upgrading of the Suoi Bac tin mine, processed tin from the Ban Co tin mine in Chau Thanh commune, and built a tin electrolysis plant to improve the quality of exported tin from grade 2 (99.75% tin) to grade 1 (99.95% tin). It also renovated the Chau Hong tin beneficiation plant and refined beneficiation technology. Investments were made in recovering by-products associated with tin minerals; exploiting the Dau Lieu construction stone mine (Hong Linh town); and modernizing and supplementing equipment and vehicles to ensure a capacity of excavating and transporting 3,000,000 m³ of earth and rock per year. In late 2008 and 2009, due to the impact of the global economic crisis, the export price of tin dropped sharply. The company quickly reorganized production, reviewed costs, rebuilt economic and technical standards, and strengthened cost management; maintaining stable employment and income for its workers.

From 2010 to the present, the company has fully stabilized its production and business operations under the joint-stock model. The company always pays attention to improving the quality of life for its employees, prioritizing the recruitment of skilled local workers. With its positive and correct direction, the company has achieved many encouraging results. The production and business results over the 5 years (2010-2014) preserved capital, with average profits reaching 6.28 billion VND/year; shareholder returns were guaranteed; revenue in 2010 increased nearly twofold compared to 2009; and in 2014 increased by 11% compared to 2010. Contributions to the state budget in 2010 increased more than threefold compared to 2009. In 2014, revenue increased by 39.2% compared to 2010. Employee income in 2010 increased by 82% compared to 2009; in 2014, it increased by 25% compared to 2010. Simultaneously with boosting production and business activities effectively, the company has always been concerned with and actively participated in the campaign to eradicate poverty, reduce hunger, show gratitude, and engage in charitable and social welfare work. The company has mobilized employees to contribute and allocated funds from its welfare fund to support and sponsor local communities, helping disadvantaged families with amounts ranging from 400 to over 500 million VND each year.

The political system within the company is constantly being strengthened and consolidated. The company's Party Committee is the political nucleus leading the company in successfully carrying out its political tasks, ensuring stability and unity. Over the years, the Party Committee has consistently maintained its title as an exemplary, clean, and strong organization. The mass organizations have demonstrated their role as a bridge between the Party organization and the company's employees, reflecting the aspirations and concerns of the people, protecting the legitimate rights and interests of members and workers, and mobilizing members and workers to fulfill the company's tasks.

With these achievements, over the past 5 years the company has been honored to receive many emulation awards from the local authorities and ministries, departments, and organizations. Notable achievements include: In 2010, the Quy Hop District Party Committee awarded a Certificate of Merit for outstanding performance in the "Studying and Following the Moral Example of Ho Chi Minh" campaign for four years. In 2011, the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor awarded a Certificate of Merit for outstanding achievements in the emulation movement for excellent labor and building a strong trade union organization. The General Department of Taxation awarded a Certificate of Merit for outstanding achievements in the implementation of tax policies and laws. In 2012, the People's Committee of Nghe An province awarded a Certificate of Merit for outstanding performance in the nationwide movement for fire prevention and control in Nghe An province from 2001 to 2012. The Trade Union of the Vietnam National Coal and Mineral Corporation (VINACOMIN) awarded a Certificate of Merit for outstanding achievements in trade union activities and the workers' movement during the 9th term, 2010-2012. In 2013, the Nghe An Provincial Party Committee awarded a Certificate of Merit to the grassroots Party organization for achieving the standard of being a clean, strong, and exemplary organization for three consecutive years (2011-2013). In 2014, the Ministry of Finance awarded a Certificate of Merit for achievements in fulfilling budget obligations and tax policies…

Thirty-five years is not a long time, but Nghe Tinh Non-Ferrous Metals Joint Stock Company has established a solid foundation for development. Building on this tradition, in its development strategy, the company will continue to strive to maintain unity and cohesion among its leadership and employees. Through this, it will overcome all difficulties and challenges, building a stronger company worthy of its fine traditions.
