Song Con Sugarcane Joint Stock Company: Purchasing unsorted sugarcane in the first 10 days

(Baonghean.vn) - On November 12, Song Con Sugarcane Joint Stock Company began purchasing sugarcane for farmers and has a policy of prioritizing the purchase of unsorted sugarcane in the first 10 days.

Mr. Nguyen Ba Quy - Deputy Director of Song Con Sugarcane Joint Stock Company said: Starting from November 12, the Company will purchase raw sugarcane for farmers.Currently, the Company has not yet announced a specific purchase price, but for now, if any sugarcane growers need cash, the Company will temporarily pay at a price of 860 thousand VND/ton (expected to be the lowest price on the market today).Because sugarcane growers do not want to harvest early, the Company has a policy of prioritizing the purchase of ungraded sugarcane in the first 10 days.

Mr. Quy added that this year's crushing season is difficult for both the factory and the Company, due to the rainy and flood weather, many sugarcane areas are flooded, reducing productivity, many impurities, and traffic in raw material areas is damaged and degraded. Before the crushing season, the Company invested in repairing some main raw material routes, however, there are still some routes that have not been repaired, making it difficult to harvest and transport sugarcane to the factory.

To meet the needs of sugarcane transportation for farmers, this crushing season the Company has contracted 230 trucks from local people to transport sugarcane from the raw material area to the factory. According to the Company's direction, agricultural officers are responsible for arranging sugarcane purchasing plans for farmers; the sugarcane area planted first will be harvested earlier and vice versa, to ensure that the sugarcane has a high sugar content.

The Company's sugarcane raw material area in Tan Ky is more than 6,000 hectares, with an average expected yield of more than 55 tons/hectare. As soon as the harvest is completed, agricultural officers will guide people to immediately plant new plants and take care of the remaining sugarcane.
