Nghe An Electricity Company is working hard to fix problems after storm No. 5, determined to restore power as soon as possible to serve the people.
After storm No. 5 (Kajiki) made landfall in the North Central region, Nghe An province was one of the localities heavily affected by prolonged heavy rain and strong gusts of wind causing serious damage to the power grid system in the area.
Immediately after the storm, although the weather was not favorable, Nghe An Electricity Company promptly mobilized maximum forces and means to urgently fix the problem and restore power as soon as possible to ensure people's daily life and production.
Storm No. 5 brought strong winds of level 9-10, gusting over level 12, causing a series of medium and low voltage lines to collapse, many transformer stations to lose power. Hundreds of thousands of customers and households across the province lost power. The power system serving hospitals, medical facilities, pumping stations for flood control and many key areas was also affected.
Mobilize all forces, urgently overcome
Faced with that situation, Nghe An Power Company immediately activated the natural disaster prevention and search and rescue plan, with the motto of "4 on-site" and "3 ready", directing the affiliated regional Power Management Teams to urgently deploy inspections and review of damage along the entire line. The Company's leadership directly went to the scene to inspect and direct the incident resolution plan together with the officers and employees mobilized to work through the night despite the rainy weather, which was not favorable to restore the power system.

Grasping the situation of the power grid in some areas such as Vinh city, Cua Lo, Nghi Loc, Yen Thanh, Dien Chau, Quynh Luu (old) ... were severely damaged. On the night of August 25, 2025, Nghe An Electricity Company established 4 shock teams with 53 members from affiliated units that were not much affected by storm No. 5 to support units that were severely damaged.
In the early morning of August 26, the Northern Power Corporation promptly dispatched more than 220 emergency workers from Hai Phong, Lao Cai, Phu Tho, Ninh Binh, Lai Chau, Son La, and Hung Yen Power Companies to Nghe An to help Nghe An Power Company restore the power system after the storm.

This is an elite force, highly skilled, healthy, and experienced in responding to and handling power grid incidents caused by natural disasters. The shock teams are fully equipped with vehicles, tools, equipment, cranes, and specialized equipment, determined to support Nghe An in restoring the power grid as soon as possible to serve the people.
Notably, on the afternoon of August 26, the Nghe An Provincial Military Command dispatched 100 military forces to directly support Nghe An Electricity Company in clearing and cutting down fallen trees on power lines to quickly restore the power grid.

Prioritize key areas to serve people
During the recovery process, Nghe An Power Company prioritized power supply to hospitals, medical stations, anti-flooding pumping stations, disaster prevention and control agencies, police agencies, military, rescue forces and densely populated areas... Thanks to proactive and effective coordination, after 1 day up to 7:00 p.m. on August 26, 35 power lines and 2,166 transformer stations were restored, power was restored to 266,272 customers. For the remaining areas, Nghe An Power Company is also working day and night to recover as soon as possible.

Immediately after the storm, we mobilized maximum manpower, equipment and materials to urgently inspect, determine the cause and deploy remedial measures. The leadership team and workers worked continuously, regardless of day or night and weather, with the highest determination to restore power supply as soon as possible.
