After receiving the request for compensation reduction from the two defendants' families, Nafoods Passion Fruit Joint Stock Company has the following opinion:
The actions of the defendants are serious violations of the law. The act of cutting down passion fruit trees by defendant Mong Van Nghe and defendant Mong Van Xanh has caused huge consequences for the company.
However, because the two defendants lack knowledge, have low education levels; are gullible; have difficult family circumstances; have an elderly and sick mother and young children; and their families' economic circumstances depend on the defendants; and the defendants have repented, we respectfully request that your agency consider reducing the sentences for defendant Mong Van Nghe and defendant Mong Van Xanh, creating conditions for the defendants to soon return home and reunite with their families."
