Cong Vinh and Thanh Luong were named in FourFourTwo's Team of the AFF Suzuki Cup 2014.
The AFF Suzuki Cup 2014 has concluded with Thailand winning the championship. The Vietnamese national team also received the Fair-play award for their attacking and entertaining style of play, alongside the friendly and amicable spirit of their numerous home fans.
Moreover, many Vietnamese national team players have been highly praised by international media. For example, the prestigious sports website FourFourTwo selected striker Le Cong Vinh and midfielder Pham Thanh Luong for their ideal team of the 2014 AFF Suzuki Cup.
Specifically, FourFourTwo said the following about Cong Vinh: “It can be affirmed that Cong Vinh is one of the best players in Vietnam today. He is the team's main goalscorer with 4 goals in this tournament, thereby raising his goal tally in the AFF Suzuki Cup to 13. Currently, Cong Vinh is only 1 goal behind the legend of the Vietnamese national team, Le Huynh Duc, and 4 goals behind Noh Alam Shah of Singapore in the list of top scorers in the history of the Southeast Asian Championship (Tiger Cup – AFF Suzuki Cup).”

Cong Vinh has been highly praised by the international press.
FourFourTwo's review of Thanh Luong:"Although only 26 years old, Pham Thanh Luong is already one of the pillars of the Vietnamese national team in this AFF Suzuki Cup. He was also a member of the Vietnamese team that won the 2008 AFF Suzuki Cup. Thanh Luong possesses skillful dribbling, agility, speed, and technique. This makes him unpredictable and causes many problems for opposing defenses. In addition, Thanh Luong can shoot well from long range. His spectacular goal against the Philippines proved this. His performance can be summed up in two words: Magic."
FourFourTwo's AFF Suzuki Cup 2014 Team of the Tournament includes:Goalkeeper Kawin Thamsatchanan (Thailand); defenders Shukor Adan (Malaysia), Tanaboon Kesarat (Thailand), Perapat Notechaiya (Thailand); midfielders Pham Thanh Luong (Vietnam), Chanathip Songkrasin (Thailand), Safiq Rahim (Malaysia), Hariss Harun (Singapore), Indra Putra (Malaysia); and strikers Le Cong Vinh (Vietnam) and Phil Younghusband (Philippines).
