The incident happened in the 32nd minute, when Giaccherini controlled Leonardo Bonucci's long pass and then neatly finished past goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois.
On the sidelines, coach Antonio Conte jumped up to celebrate. At that moment, striker Simone Zaza and his teammates jumped off the bench and rushed towards him. The two teachers and students hugged each other, and in the moment of excitement, Zaza's hand hit the teacher's nose, causing it to bleed.
The Italian team's doctors had to immediately treat the wound, and gave Conte a towel to absorb the blood. The 46-year-old strategist then continued to work as usual. After the match, he shared about the incident: "I will continue to sacrifice myself as long as the team wins."
Italy were rated lower than Belgium, but their tight defense and effective attack helped Conte and his team achieve unexpected results. After Giaccherini's goal, in the second half's injury time, Graziano Pelle sealed the 2-0 result from a counter-attack.

“It was a great match,” Conte told Rai Sport. “We prepared well and followed the plan. We faced a strong opponent, a team that is fully capable of winning this tournament, but with this team spirit Italy can also do miracles.”
"This victory doesn't bring us any achievements, but hopefully we will get what the players deserve. All I want to focus on is that we played as a team."
Next match, Italy vs Sweden on June 17.
