Coutinho is out of action due to 'injury', not because he is about to move to Barca
Midfielder Philippe Coutinho was absent when Liverpool visited Burnley in the first match of 2018.
Coutinho was not on the pitch or on the bench for the match against Burnley. Instead of using the Brazilian midfielder, coach Jurgen Klopp started Adam Lallana.
Klopp explained when asked about Coutinho's absence: "Coutinho and Salah are both absent due to injury. That's the reality."

Coutinho's absence from the game could fuel further speculation about his imminent move to Barca. According to British media, Barca are making a big effort to buy the Brazilian star in the winter transfer window.
A sportswear company recently made a mistake regarding Coutinho's shirt at Barca. The information made many fans think that Liverpool had agreed to sell and everything was just a matter of time.
Barca failed to buy Coutinho on the last day of the summer transfer window in 2017. At that time, Liverpool rejected the $180 million price tag.
