"CP The News" and "Phan School Radio" - students of specialized schools practice journalism
(Baonghean) - Making newspapers, editing video clips, organizing radio programs... are products bearing the mark of students that are being vividly produced by students of Phan Boi Chau High School for the Gifted.
“CP The news” is a new magazine published at Phan Boi Chau High School for the Gifted. The first edition had only 400 copies, but immediately after publication, it was received very positively by teachers and students in the school. With 50 pages of writing organized, edited and illustrated quite vividly, CP The news really brought many surprises to readers. It is even more interesting to know that the “editor-in-chief” of this magazine is a French major 11th grade student, and from the time of drafting the manuscript to publication, it took less than a month and a half…

Members of class 11C4 (Phan Boi Chau High School for the Gifted) prepare content for the March 26 issue. |
That idea was planned by Nguyen Thi Huong Thao, a student of class 11 C4 since the end of grade 10. At that time, Thao was a member of the Phan media club with many programs and events organized quite successfully by the group. After the exciting activities, Thao realized that: The programs are very good, Phan school students have many ideas. If not saved, they will also fade away. Only publications such as books and newspapers can be preserved and spread, writing books and making newspapers is also an opportunity for her and her friends to express their passion for journalism.
However, the newly presented project has encountered reactions for three reasons: funding, implementers and experience. Facing such conflicting opinions, Thao herself was worried and hesitant, but then with the desire to have a product "full of Phan school's character and connection", Thao did not hesitate to contact the project's printing house directly to ask for sponsorship and directly contact some former students of Phan school to get feedback.

"CP The News" publication is produced by Phan School students. |
With a cost of nearly 20,000 VND/copy, Thao and her friends only modestly printed 400 copies in the first issue. After that, when selling, although they lost nearly 5,000 VND/copy, Thao and the members of the editorial team were very happy because finally their "brainchild" reached the readers.
In that 50-page magazine, it encapsulates the feelings, nostalgia and emotions of Phan school students themselves about their beloved school. That is Phan school with color pictures in "Phan Xua" as a reminder of a school "old but not old"; Phan school with the image of Hoang Thi Dieu Thuan, a former student full of determination and talent; Phan school with the rebellious class 11C. The publication is also dedicated to K44 students, new students, who are unfamiliar with the school...
The success and positive reception of CP News has also left another strong impression on Phan School students, especially in the field of information and communication. Previously, from the students' own ideas, the program "Phan School Radio 46th Minute" has created a strong response from a large number of students in the school. This is a program entirely staged and produced by students. Through this radio channel, every day at the 46th minute (after 45 minutes of class), Phan School students will listen to confidences, sharing and songs about school life. Each program will have a separate topic because each class builds its own script, edits and performs it themselves.
In particular, for 12th graders, this is a channel for them to express their feelings to teachers and friends, as well as a channel to communicate, make friends and share learning experiences. Tran Khanh Vy, a female student who is stirring up the online community with her humorous clip of speaking 7 languages, confided: Thanks to these programs, we have the opportunity to experience and show our talents. Moreover, this is also an important opportunity for us to "test" our future careers.
Ms. Nguyen Thi Kim Chi - Vice Principal of the school strongly agrees and supports the creative ideas of the students. At the same time, she affirms that these are necessary life skills, creating for the students to be bolder and more confident after entering the world.
Not only are students good at studying, Nghe An students are increasingly creating and producing quality products that reflect the spirit and colors of youth and are being evaluated and recognized. Most recently, the clip "Thai Hoa, my hometown" is a lively, attractive and meaningful clip made by students of Thai Hoa High School. This clip surpassed hundreds of other clips nationwide to win first prize in the video making contest on the topic of learning about national history and culture in the "Proud of Vietnam" contest launched by the Central Youth Union. |
