The two traffic police officers could not hide their happiness when experiencing and contributing to a "half-crying, half-laughing" birth. Fortunately, both mother and child were safe when they arrived at the hospital.

That same morning, two officers were patrolling when suddenly a young man with a panic-stricken face got out of a 7-seater car and ran towards them, saying that he was taking a woman to give birth in the car, but she gave birth right in the car.

Captain Hieu and Captain Quan immediately got in the car, turned on the siren, and drove to clear the way for the ambulance carrying the woman in labor to the hospital for emergency treatment.

"Faced with that scene, my mind was only thinking of the fastest way to help the woman and baby get to the hospital so that doctors and more specialized medical staff could handle the emergency. When a woman gives birth incorrectly, it can be life-threatening," Captain Hieu recalled.

A shift with a situation full of surprises, the car arrived at the hospital in time, the two officers returned to their original positions, filled with joy and happiness, constantly praying for the safety of the mother and child. Afterwards, driver Thanh returned to the unit to thank the two officers, informing them that the mother and child were well taken care of by the doctors.

"Hearing that made me feel relieved. And I also replied to Mr. Thanh that it was a duty in emergency situations, anyone in that situation would do the same," said Captain Hieu.

Speaking to Tuoi Tre Online, Mr. Thanh said he was the driver who took his sister to give birth in the video above. Accordingly, at around 7:00 a.m. on March 26, he received information that his sister had gone into labor after a period of pregnancy.

Immediately, Mr. Thanh drove a 7-seat car to his sister's house (about 2km from his house) to take her to Ho Chi Minh City via the Ho Chi Minh City - Long Thanh - Dau Giay Expressway. When they reached Vo Van Kiet Street, just after passing the Thu Thiem tunnel (District 1), the sister gave birth right in the car.

"At that time, the road was so crowded that I panicked and didn't know what to do. My sister gave birth in the car and all I could think about was the traffic police to guide us. My sister was screaming and the baby was crying continuously. I was so scared," Mr. Thanh recalled.

Mr. Thanh added that when his car had just passed the Nguyen Tri Phuong overpass (District 5), he saw two traffic police officers standing right at the corner of the intersection. At that time, he did not think much, just ran to ask the traffic police officers to show him the way to go faster.

"The two men asked what was going on. I explained that someone was giving birth in the car and needed to go to the hospital urgently. The two traffic police officers immediately told me to get in the car quickly and they would take me there. I was so happy that I jumped in the car and ran after them," Mr. Thanh recalled.

Then his car also arrived at the University of Medicine and Pharmacy Hospital, Campus 1 on Hong Bang Street. Doctors and nurses quickly took mother and child to the hospital.

"I'm so glad that the traffic police cleared the way so she could get to the hospital in time, otherwise the lives of mother and baby would have been in danger. When I arrived, I ran to shake their hands to thank them, but they told me to take care of her," Thanh added.

According to Mr. Thanh, he later received news that his wife and baby's health were normal and unaffected, and he went to inform the two traffic police officers.

On the afternoon of March 26, the leader of the Traffic Police - Order Team of District 5 Police (HCMC) confirmed that there was an incident in which two traffic police officers from the special motorcycle team turned on their sirens and guided a 7-seat car carrying a pregnant woman from Dong Nai to HCMC to give birth.
