94-year-old woman dies while receiving IV at private clinic

LunchOn November 22, an old woman entered a clinic in Dong Nai and received an IV for a while, then passed out and died shortly after.

The clinic where the old woman received IV fluids and died was crowded with people at noon on November 22.

At noon on November 22, 94-year-old Pham Thi Cham, from An Giang, was taken by relatives to Dong Sai Gon General Clinic in Hoa An Commune, Bien Hoa City (Dong Nai).

The clinic doctor prescribed an IV. After a while, Mrs. Cham became unconscious. She was given emergency care but died.

Bien Hoa City Police have blocked off the scene and are working with Dong Nai Health Department inspectors to investigate the cause of the old woman's death.

"The above clinic has a license to operate in accordance with regulations. The cause of the patient's death is still under investigation so there is no official conclusion yet," said a leader of Dong Nai Department of Health.
