The photo captures the moment a silver-haired old lady is scribbling hearts on a piece of A4 paper. When knowing the story behind this photo, many people expressed deep emotion.
Duc Vu shared that his house is near a social protection center (Hanoi). In the summer, Duc Vu and the neighborhood children often go there to play and pick fruit. By chance, he saw an old woman sitting there diligently drawing a heart on a piece of white paper.
He asked curiously, and she said that it was her husband's birthday. He had passed away 8 years ago. She wanted to draw 1,000 hearts and burn them for her husband so that he would know that she still missed him very much.
“She confided that she misses her husband every day and hopes to see him soon. She just hopes that every night when she opens her eyes, she can see him until she closes her eyes and passes away...” - the young man born in 1998 shared.
Duc Vu added that after listening to the old woman's story, he was speechless before this simple yet extremely touching story.
“If you look closely, you will see that she is still wearing a ring on her hand. She did not say it was a wedding ring, but she said she wore the ring to remember her life partner.
I am really touched. Looking back at life now, where can I find such an eternal love? I also don't know if I will ever find someone who loves me like that.
When sharing this story, I hope that anyone who has not, will, is, or has loved will continue to believe and love with all their heart. Life always has good things around us," Duc Vu said.
