The Standing Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Vinh City has submitted to the 10th meeting for consideration and consultation the election of Mr. Nguyen Huu Chau - currently the Chairman of the Association of Revolutionary Soldiers Captured and Imprisoned by the Enemy in Vinh City - as a member of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Vinh City, term XVII, 2014-2019, replacing Mr. Dang Thai Luu who has just retired.

100% of the members of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Vinh City present at the conference voted in agreement.

Evaluating the work in 2017, Vinh City continued to maintain and promote the great solidarity of all classes of people to strictly comply with the Party's guidelines and policies, the State's policies and laws, actively participate in movements, campaigns, activities to celebrate major holidays, celebrate the Party, celebrate Spring, carry out the clearance of traffic safety corridors, environmental sanitation, etc.

However, during the year, there were still disputes and mass complaints; security, order and social safety were still potentially complicated, affecting the great national unity bloc; people were still concerned about the slow improvement of food hygiene and safety; corruption and waste had not been pushed back...

Entering 2018, the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Vinh City has developed a coordinated action program focusing on key tasks of the mid-term year to implement the Resolution of the 12th National Party Congress, Party Congresses at all levels, the 230th anniversary of Phuong Hoang Trung Do - Vinh, 10 years of a class I urban area and the grassroots front congress for the 2018-2023 term,...

The Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Vinh City also coordinated with the City People's Committee to develop and implement the program "Tet for the poor - Mau Tuat 2018" with many innovations, promoting the spirit of solidarity, mutual love, and sharing difficulties.

On this occasion, the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front awarded the Medal "For the Cause of Great National Unity" to 2 individuals; the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Nghe An province awarded rewards to 64 groups and 51 individuals; the Chairman of the Vinh City People's Committee awarded certificates of merit to 5 groups and 5 individuals.

The Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Vinh City awarded certificates of merit to 20 groups and 10 individuals with outstanding achievements in the 2017 Fatherland Front work in the city; awarded certificates of merit to 13 groups and 3 individuals with outstanding achievements in the Fund for the Poor campaign.
