(Baonghean.vn) - After many days of heated debate, the battle over television broadcasting rights for Vietnamese football has temporarily calmed down thanks to the Prime Minister's directive to create conditions to ensure that the National Football League is broadcast live, continuously, and widely throughout the country by television stations, meeting the needs of the people.

Before the Prime Minister's directive, the dispute over television broadcasting rights for the Super League had reached its peak when the VFF and VPF, along with AVG, VTC, etc., repeatedly exchanged official letters, each side claiming to be in the right and demanding that their partners strictly comply, leaving stadium organizers confused. As a result, during the second round of the Super League, many broadcasters brought their equipment to the stadiums but were still unable to film for the fans because the broadcasters and stadium organizers were busy arguing about who was right and who was wrong! It wasn't until the Chairman of the VPF, Mr. Vo Quoc Thang, directly called the stadium organizers, requesting permission for broadcasters to film, that some channels were able to broadcast the second half for the fans.

This situation arose because AVG had the backing of the VFF (Vietnam Football Federation), with VFF President Nguyen Trong Hy declaring that the decision of the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism's inspectors (the VFF's governing body) would be final. Confident in this backing, AVG drafted a document prohibiting broadcasters from accessing the stadium without their consent. Unwilling to get involved in this conflict, the broadcasters had to accept the directives of the VFF and AVG!

However, the club owners – those with the final say in the VPF – did not accept this, because their ultimate goal was for the Super League to serve all fans. They met and discussed their opinions, and finally agreed to meet with the Prime Minister to discuss this issue.

On January 12th, the Prime Minister issued a response to the Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism's request to direct an investigation into the television broadcasting rights contract for the National Football League. He also requested that conditions be created to ensure the National Football League is broadcast live, continuously, and widely across the country by television stations, meeting the needs of the people. With this decision, the demands of the VFF and AVG on television stations and the VPF will no longer be valid!

This is a "spectacular goal" for the club owners – because previously, many thought that the VPF would have difficulty turning the situation around, given that the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism – the "parent" organization of the VFF – was the one presiding over this case! With this "goal," the VPF has completely changed the landscape of the television broadcasting rights "battle"! Broadcasters and fans nationwide will no longer have to worry about accessing Super League matches!
