60-year-old man saves 3 students from drowning.
While gardening in his backyard, Mr. Mao discovered three students drowning in the river. He immediately approached and rescued all three children.
On October 9th, leaders of the Party Committee, People's Council, People's Committee, and Fatherland Front Committee of Thach Giam town (Tuong Duong district); the Town's Veterans Association; and the Party Committee and Management Board of Mon village visited the home of Mr. Lo Van Mao, 60 years old, an exemplary and courageous veteran who saved a person from drowning.
Earlier, on the afternoon of October 8th, while gardening, Mr. Mao suddenly heard shouts and cries.rescuing people from drowning.Without delay, he ran to the riverbank and saw all three children struggling in the water. Immediately, he grabbed a nearby boat and quickly approached them. Using his skills and experience as someone familiar with the river, Mr. Mao managed to get all three children into the boat.
Mr. Lo Van Mao shared: "When I discovered that three children were drowning at the same time, I was afraid that if I swam out to rescue them, I wouldn't be able to save all three in time. So when I saw the boat nearby, I quickly rushed to it and rowed as fast as I could to save them."
It is known that Mr. Mao had previously rescued a person from drowning in Cua Rao village, Xa Luong commune, Tuong Duong district.
Mr. Lo Van Mao is currently a member of the Veterans Association of the town. He previously fought in the Laotian battlefield. Upholding the traditions of Uncle Ho's soldiers, in his daily life he always actively participates in community and village movements, readily assisting his fellow villagers when needed.
