An "elderly" turtle crawled into a resident's house in Lien Thanh (Yen Thanh).
(Baonghean.vn) -At around 2 AM on September 24th, Mr. Thai Van Dung, residing in Hamlet 9 (Lien Thanh Commune, Yen Thanh District), discovered a large turtle lying in front of his house.
The dark brown turtle measures over 70 cm in length, nearly 45 cm in width, and weighs over 12 kg. Many curious people from all over came to see it, saying they had never seen such a large freshwater turtle before. It is known that someone from Ha Tinh and Dien Chau offered to buy the turtle for 60-70 million VND, but Mr. Dung refused to sell it.
The turtle crawled into Mr. Dung's house on its own.
Mr. Dung added: "I forgot to close the gate when I heard the dog barking and ran out to find the turtle lying in front of the yard." Mr. Dung and many other residents suspect that the turtle likely drifted from the Vu Giang River, about 500 meters from the commune, or floated from the Lam River, due to the heavy rain and flooding.
