Regarding the policy of socialization, Ms. Nguyen Tu Uyen, a parent of a student at Hung Dung Secondary School, said that most parents agree that the school's revenues and expenditures are basically reasonable. However, almost no parents of the school agree with the teaching and learning according to the new school model (VNEN).
“In reality, when the pilot program was implemented in some classes of the blocks, our children studied according to the new program, but when it came time to take the exams, they still took the traditional ones, so parents were not assured. We had to send our children to extra classes outside to keep up with the program,” Ms. Uyen said indignantly.
She also said: "The decision is up to the province and the education sector, but we parents mostly oppose it. Recently, the parents' collective also petitioned the school to stop the VNEN model."

Voter Nguyen Phuong Thao guides her child to study at home. |
Meanwhile, Ms. Nguyen Phuong Thao, a parent of a 2A student at Dung Town Primary School, Thanh Chuong, said that the VNEN model has both advantages and disadvantages. The documents are compiled in the spirit of innovative methods, the difficult content in the old textbooks has been simplified, and each lesson content has additional practical applications so that students can apply them to life, which are obvious advantages of VNEN. However, Ms. Thao pointed out the limitations of this model, such as: desks and chairs are not suitable for group study; lack of textbooks affects students' self-study; for students who are slow learners, self-study will be even more difficult...

Voter Lo Quang Khuong thinks that Mandarin should be taught well to students in mountainous areas before applying VNEN. |
Voter Lo Quang Khuong, residing in Lam Bong village, Bong Khe commune, Con Cuong district, said that VNEN is suitable for application in mountainous areas, but added: "Many children do not yet have a clear grasp of the common language, while the translation of documents from the common language to ethnic languages is still limited and not close. In my opinion, this new curriculum should continue to be applied, but teachers must be properly trained, have their capacity improved, and for mountainous areas, it is necessary to do a good job of teaching the common language to children first."

Voter Nguyen Thi Thu Ha, also a parent whose child is studying under the VNEN model, commented: “The questions almost reflected the concerns of voters, and the Director of the Department of Education and Training also answered, but everything is still "rosy". Mr. Vo Hoang Ngoc - Principal of Le Loi Secondary School assessed that there were some contents that were not satisfactorily explained at the question and answer session of the Provincial People's Council on the issue of applying the VNEN model. |
On the school side, after fully following the explanation, questioning and answering questions, Mr. Vo Hoang Ngoc - Principal of the school raised 3 unclear issues related to the application of VNEN: “First, the pilot implementation was not properly invested. Second, the pilot must be assigned tasks and conducted within a narrow scope to gain experience, not to be widely replicated. Third, in 2018, when implementing the program on a large scale, the Ministry of Education and Training must consider reducing the number of students, the Ministry of Home Affairs must consider increasing teachers and the Ministry of Finance must consider increasing the salary fund to meet - these are all important issues of national scale. Through questioning and answering questions, I feel that these issues have not been clarified and satisfied voters”./.
