Da Nang voters raise issue of Party Secretary Nguyen Xuan Anh's house

Voters in Hai Chau district proposed to take back the house that Secretary of the City Party Committee Nguyen Xuan Anh received from the enterprise.

This morning, the delegation of National Assembly deputies of Da Nang city met with voters of Hai Chau and Son Tra districts. Voters questioned many hot issues, especially about the shortcomings of Da Nang city leaders that the Central Inspection Committee had concluded.

Voter Dang Van (Hai Chau district) said that recently, the Party and State have discovered and resolutely handled a number of serious corruption cases and disciplined a number of high-ranking officials. This makes voters very happy.

Mr. Van proposed to take back the house that Secretary of the City Party Committee Nguyen Xuan Anh received from the enterprise (on Nguyen Thai Hoc Street - PV).

"In my opinion, the recent shortcomings of Da Nang City are partly the responsibility of the National Assembly delegation in supervising," Mr. Van added.

Mr. Van said that in handling the violations of Da Nang leaders, specifically Secretary Nguyen Xuan Anh, it is necessary to clearly investigate the receiving of houses and cars.

"Resolutely recover corrupt assets, such as houses received from businesses, must be recovered," he suggested.

Will the Secretary resign as promised?

According to voter Duong Minh Truong (Son Tra district), Secretary Nguyen Xuan Anh has been in office for less than 2 years but has already accepted a house and a car from a business, which is not allowed. This makes the city's residents very upset.

Voter Le Tho Quyen said that people were very disappointed when the two highest leaders of the city committed violations to the point of having to be disciplined. "Secretary Xuan Anh once affirmed that if he had any more square meters of land in Da Nang, he would resign. Now that the Central Inspection Committee has clarified that he received a house from a business, will he resign?", Mr. Quyen asked.

Responding to voters, Deputy Head of the Da Nang National Assembly Delegation Nguyen Ba Son admitted that the National Assembly Delegation could not avoid shortcomings. He promised to accept the opinions of voter Dang Van and fulfill his responsibility in supervision. He added that he would forward the opinions of voters to the relevant authorities.

At the meeting, Mr. Nguyen Thanh Quang, representative of the National Assembly Delegation of Da Nang, also reported to voters about the violations of the Secretary and Chairman of Da Nang in the past. He affirmed that the violations are being handled.

“In 10-15 days, there will be a specific announcement to report to voters about the handling,” Mr. Quang said.
