Thanh Chuong District Voters: 'We buy fertilizer like gambling'

(Baonghean.vn) - On the morning of November 25, delegates of the Provincial People's Council including Mr. Ho Dinh Trung - Member of the Provincial Party Committee, Chief Justice of the Provincial People's Court; Mr. Tran Dinh Toan - Deputy Head of the Legal Committee, Provincial People's Council; Mr. Truong An Hung - Vice Chairman of the Board of Directors, General Director of Nghe An Agricultural Materials Company met with voters in Thanh Lam commune, Thanh Chuong district.

Also participating in the voter contact were leaders of the District Party Committee, Standing Committee of the People's Council, People's Committee, and Fatherland Front Committee of Thanh Lam commune.

Provincial People's Council delegates and voters attended the meeting.

At the conference, many voters expressed their excitement about the development of the province in 2016 and agreed with the program and content of the 3rd session of the 17th Provincial People's Council. Voters frankly raised concerns and problems, requesting the Provincial People's Council to take care and resolve them.

Voters reflected on many issues related to agricultural production and consumption. Voter Vo Van Hue was concerned about the situation of "good harvest, low price", not being able to find an outlet for agricultural products.

Voter Nguyen Van Kha said that currently the connection between businesses and people is still weak, there needs to be support policies to ensure the interests of both sides to improve product quality and ensure output for agricultural products.

Voter Nguyen Van Cung reported that in the past year, many establishments in the area have illegally mixed and blended fertilizers, even counterfeiting famous brands on the market, not only affecting legitimate manufacturers and businesses but also causing heavy losses to farmers.

"Now we farmers buy fertilizer like gambling, we don't know what to expect. I request that the authorities have strict management measures," said this voter.

Responding to voters’ concerns about agricultural material prices, Mr. Truong An Hung - Vice Chairman of the Board of Directors, General Director of Nghe An Agricultural Material Company said that in fact, over the past 8 years, fertilizer prices have not changed at all. This year, due to fluctuations in the world’s raw material stock, prices have fluctuated.

Regarding the quality of fertilizers, Mr. Hung said that most of the violations discovered were due to the deliberate sale of fake, poor quality fertilizers at cheap prices, preying on consumer psychology. These types of fertilizers are difficult to identify with the naked eye, so many people buy fake fertilizers without knowing it.

According to Mr. Hung, to protect farmers from poor quality fertilizers, every year, in addition to planned inspections and controls, the unit also conducts many surprise inspections of fertilizer dealers and stores.

“However, to avoid buying fake, poor quality fertilizers, consumers need to go to reputable stores and agents to choose products. When buying, choose branded products; pay special attention to the parameters listed on the packaging such as type, origin, nutritional composition, expiry date and manufacturer... When detecting abnormal signs in the product, immediately go to the authorities to report to join the investigation and handling. In addition, people should use fertilizers and pesticides in a balanced and correct quantity to improve the quality of crops and protect the living environment" - Mr. Hung recommended.

Mr. Tran Dinh Toan - Deputy Head of the Legal Committee, Provincial People's Council explained a number of issues within his authority.

Many voters have opinions related to a number of issues such as: supporting investment in upgrading the power grid to improve the quality of electricity supplied to people; upgrading some degraded canals; building flood avoidance roads; paying attention to the infrastructure of kindergartens; upgrading traffic routes bordering Nam Dan district and Huong Son district (Ha Tinh); removing obstacles in the policy of considering poor and near-poor households; building new rural areas...

Concerns and worries of voters of Hoang Mai town have been received, explained and clarified by the Provincial People's Council delegates. The opinions of voters will be compiled by the Provincial People's Council and recommended to relevant units for consideration and resolution./.
