The poll, which has now attracted some 35,000 respondents, found that 25% of voters see the economy as the “most important issue”. 14% are more concerned about “terrorism/terrorist attacks” and 13% tick “healthcare”.
By contrast, in 2012, a Reuters/Ipsos nationwide poll found that 46% of American voters listed the economy as their number one concern. Almost no one listed terrorism as their top concern four years ago, and 8% listed health care as their top concern.
Additionally, immigration - a prominent issue in Trump's campaign - was chosen as the most important issue by 7% of all voters surveyed in the November 8 poll.
The results of the poll will continue to be updated until the election process in this country is completed.
