Customs Department implements 24/7 tax payment and customs clearance project
(Baonghean.vn) - On the morning of December 26, the Customs Department organized a business dialogue conference and provided training on newly issued customs legal documents.
At the conference, officials of Nghe An Customs Department introduced the project of electronic tax payment and 24/7 customs clearance; introduced Decree 125/2017/ND-CP of the Government which took effect from January 1, 2018.

The 24/7 tax payment and customs clearance project is a form of paying taxes and other payable amounts through a commercial bank in coordination with the General Department of Customs through the Customs Electronic Payment Gateway.
With the 24/7 project, taxpayers can make tax declarations directly on the customs electronic payment portal anytime, anywhere, by any means, limiting cash payments; Ensuring tax payment information is paid promptly and accurately; Reducing tax payment time, fast customs clearance, aiming to be equal to ASEAN4+ countries.

In addition, implementing the new project helps save human resources, ensure safety in management work, simplify tax collection and payment procedures; pay tax debts accurately and promptly, limit errors, and improve the quality of payment services.
5 pilot banks include BIDV, VCB, Vietinbank, MBBank, Techcombank.
At the conference, some questions surrounding the implementation of the 24/7 tax payment and customs clearance project and Decree 125/2017/ND-CP of the Government were answered and guided by officers of the Customs Department.

According to the report of Nghe An Customs Department, in 2017, the total number of import-export declarations was 17,841 sets of declarations, an increase of 3,731 declarations compared to the same period in 2016. Import-export turnover reached 1,075 million USD, an increase of 35% compared to the same period in 2016. Of which, export turnover reached 440.5 million USD, import turnover reached 634.7 million USD. The amount of tax paid to the state budget from import-export activities at Nghe An Customs Department is 1,444 billion VND, reaching 150% of the legal target. |
