TH's world record dairy farm cluster: Vietnam's clean agriculture mark
(Baonghean.vn) - International experts say that TH's dairy farm cluster coming into operation, providing clean fresh milk that meets international standards, is a mark that brings about fundamental changes in the dairy and livestock industries of Vietnam.
The attraction of giant projects
More than 10 years ago, a team of hundreds of the world's leading experts in agriculture, livestock technology and management science... came to Nghia Dan, Nghe An at the invitation of TH true MILK, to start building a farm cluster that by 2020 was certified by World Records Union - WorldKings as the world's largest high-tech concentrated farm cluster with a closed production process.

The dairy farm belongs to the TH Group's largest high-tech concentrated farm cluster with a closed production process in the world in Nghe An. |
Ms. Thai Huong - founder of TH Group, from the beginning determined that the business's mindset was to combine Vietnamese natural resources, Vietnamese intelligence with high technology and the most advanced management science in the world. "I wanted to make a glass of clean, international-standard fresh milk right on Vietnamese soil. Who would do this for me when my knowledge of milk at that time was still zero? I had to invite the best teacher."
Tal Cohen was one of the first experts from Afimilk (Israel) to participate in the TH true MILK milk project. Currently, he is the General Director of TH Dairy Food Joint Stock Company (the unit operating the TH farm). Sharing the reason for participating in TH's milk project 10 years ago, the Israeli expert said: "I was attracted by the scale of the project that TH proposed. At that time, the scale of dairy farms in the world only stopped at 500 - 1,000 cows, but TH has far exceeded that number with 45,000 starting cows. That number is too large."
“After hearing the offer to join the project, I immediately agreed without hesitation, because with such a scale, it is worth experiencing anywhere in the world,” Tal Cohen added.

Expert Tal Cohen hopesQuality standards and professional processes currently applied at TH will be widely transferred, promoting the development of organic agriculture for community health. |
In February 2011, Tal Cohen first set foot in Vietnam with dozens of Israeli engineers and farmers - skilled dairy farmers. They were part of the TH Group's plan to start the world's largest concentrated high-tech dairy project.
Recalling the time of starting the farm, Tal Cohen said: “At that time, I had only one thought in mind, the most professional things that Afimilk applied in Israel and in the world, needed to be strictly followed here. This project is not only a milestone in my career, it is also a lever to develop clean agriculture in Vietnam. For that reason, my colleagues and I have built processes, quality standards, and professional working regulations right from the beginning.”
With perseverance, up to now, TH's herd has approached 70,000 cows with many new farms built everywhere in Vietnam such as Ha Giang, Phu Yen, Kon Tum, Thanh Hoa, Cao Bang, An Giang... and even abroad (Russian Federation, Australia). In particular, the genetic quality of TH's cow herd is considered to be among the best in the world today.
Having been with TH for more than a decade, the Israeli expert said that he will continue to participate in the development process of TH because he personally sees that there is still much work to do: “I understand the core values of TH, so I want to contribute my efforts to training more high-quality human resources to continue developing more TH farms in localities in Vietnam or other countries around the world. They will bring the quality standards and professional processes that we are applying everywhere to promote organic agriculture for public health.”
Impressed with sustainable development thinking
Like Tal Cohen, veterinarian Craig Tanner was one of the first Totally Vets (New Zealand) specialists to work at TH farm.
“The first time I came to Nghia Dan was in January 2010. What surprised me was the strict animal welfare regime applied at TH farms. It can be affirmed that TH is the first enterprise in Vietnam to pioneer in issuing and strictly complying with these standards,” said Mr. Craig, “TH Group has contributed to changing the mindset of agriculture in Vietnam.”

TH is a pioneer enterprise in Vietnam in issuing and strictly complying with animal welfare standards, making this standard one of the six pillars of the Group's sustainable development policy. |
The cows at TH are guaranteed the "5 no's" of the British Animal Welfare Council in 1979: No hunger or thirst; no discomfort; no pain, injury or illness; no fear or mental suffering; no restrictions on normal behavior and activities.
Operating in the dairy industry, TH Group understands that ensuring animal welfare will contribute to ensuring the sustainable development of the business. Modern breeding and management processes, along with the care and attention given to happy cows are the "guiding principles" in all activities of TH farms, in order to produce fresh, clean, cool milk to serve consumers.
