Join experts in exploring "Vietnamese Ceramics in the Long History of Vietnam"

Art lovers in Hanoi will have the opportunity to learn about "Vietnamese Ceramics in the Long History of Vietnam" in a talk show with two experts on ancient ceramics: Associate Professor, Dr. Nguyen Dinh Chien - former Deputy Director of the National Museum of History, and painter Bui Hoai Mai, at 2:30 PM on March 18th, at Heritage Space, Dolphin Plaza.

The collaboration between these two experts promises to offer ceramics enthusiasts a more comprehensive and nuanced understanding of the role of ceramics in history. This will open up new perspectives on the lives of Vietnamese people throughout history, up to the present day. With an artistic eye based on solid research, the program is seen as a beautiful collaboration between the pursuit of beauty and scientific truth.

Perhaps the most interesting aspect of this encounter lies in its contradictions. Generational conflicts, conflicting perspectives… Most of these contradictions lead to conflict, but some also bring about enlightenment.

Artist Bui Hoai Mai is known as a "wanderer" in the ceramics world with her vigorous contemporary ceramic works, most notably her folk-inspired ceramic reliefs and innovative ceramic techniques in the Red River Ceramic Road project.

Meanwhile, Associate Professor, Dr. Nguyen Dinh Chien is a specialist researcher who transforms ceramics from inanimate objects into important historical witnesses in the ever-changing flow of time.

One is an artist "obsessed with pottery," breathing life into ceramics with his hands and passionate, creative soul, while the other explores the past and is curious about the present.
