Strengthening the people's trust in the face of false and hostile viewpoints.

On the afternoon of January 15th, the Nghe An Provincial Party Committee held a conference to summarize the work of protecting the Party's ideological foundation and combating erroneous and hostile viewpoints in 2024, and to implement tasks for 2025.

Comrade Hoang Nghia Hieu - Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Council, and Comrade Nguyen Thi Hong Hoa - Member of the Provincial Party Committee, Head of the Provincial Propaganda Department, presided over the conference. Attending the conference were representatives from relevant departments and agencies, as well as leaders of district, city, and town Party committees and subordinate Party committees; the Provincial Fatherland Front Committee and other provincial-level political and social organizations.

The report presented at the conference stated that in 2024, hostile forces, reactionary elements, extremists, and political opportunists both domestically and internationally continued to exploit political events and complex, sensitive incidents to post, share, and disseminate false, distorted, and fabricated information, inciting and manipulating public opinion and causing social unrest. Within the province, hostile forces and political opportunists thoroughly exploited issues of public concern to incite dissent on social media.

Thanks to the active involvement of local authorities and departments, by the end of 2024, political security, social order, and safety in the province were ensured, the economy and society continued to develop, and political events were successfully and smoothly conducted. This achievement was significantly contributed to by the work of protecting the Party's ideological foundation, combating erroneous and hostile viewpoints, and contributing to social consensus.

The Provincial Steering Committee 35 promptly advised the Standing Committee and the Provincial Party Committee to direct and effectively implement the directives and resolutions of the Central and Provincial authorities on protecting the Party's ideological foundation. During this process, the Steering Committee 35 and all levels, sectors, and localities closely monitored major events in the province and the country, especially anticipating complex and sensitive issues that might arise. This allowed them to proactively develop plans and content for propaganda, provide and guide public opinion, and refute false and distorted narratives from the outset.

Press agencies in the province regularly and effectively participate in protecting the Party's ideological foundation with sections such as "Protecting the Party's Ideological Foundation," special topics, and directional information, promptly combating the exploitation of sensitive events and issues by hostile forces for subversive purposes.

Simultaneously, the units actively disseminated information about socio-economic development achievements, promoted the image of the country and the province, especially the results of ensuring security, order, and sovereignty over the sea and islands of the province and the country, and highlighted examples of good people and good deeds... contributing to strengthening trust among all strata of the people, ensuring ideological security, order, and social safety throughout the province.

Delivering a directive speech at the conference, Comrade Hoang Nghia Hieu commended the achievements of the Provincial Steering Committee 35 and all levels and sectors in 2024. Regarding the tasks for 2025, Comrade Hoang Nghia Hieu requested that the entire political system in the province continue to advise and direct the implementation of Conclusion No. 89-KL/TW, dated July 25, 2024, of the Politburo on continuing to implement Resolution No. 35, in conjunction with the implementation of Regulation No. 85-QĐ/TW, dated October 7, 2020, of the Secretariat on the use of personal websites and social media by cadres and Party members.

At the same time, proactively grasp, assess, analyze, and forecast the activities of hostile forces, political and ideological opportunists, and public opinion among cadres, Party members, and all strata of the people in the province to promptly disseminate information, provide guidance, and effectively counter complex emerging issues, preventing malicious individuals from exploiting them to undermine the cause of building and developing the homeland and the country.

Continue to innovate and improve the quality of the implementation of the Political Commentary Contest on defending the Party's ideological foundation and combating erroneous and hostile viewpoints, in conjunction with the annual Golden Hammer and Sickle Award – Nghe An. Effectively coordinate among forces, departments, and localities to strengthen linkages in providing timely, accurate, and effective information for propaganda purposes, especially when complex situations arise.

On this occasion, the provincial leaders awarded Certificates of Commendation from the Director of the Ho Chi Minh National Political Academy to the Steering Committee 35 of the Nghe An Provincial Party Committee; and Certificates of Commendation from the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee to 3 authors/groups of authors who won high prizes in the 4th Political Commentary Competition on Protecting the Ideological Foundation of the Party, 2024.
