On the evening of June 20th, the Nghe An Guest House – the venue for the 88th anniversary celebration of Vietnam's Revolutionary Press Day and the 2012 Nghe An Journalism Awards – became the gathering place for journalists in President Ho Chi Minh's homeland. For reporters and journalists, after a year of working tirelessly on the ground, focusing on topics that life and the people were waiting for, this reunion was a reward and a source of immense encouragement bestowed upon them by the Nghe An Provincial Party Committee and People's Committee. (Baonghean)On the evening of June 20th, the Nghe An Guest House – the venue for the 88th anniversary celebration of Vietnam's Revolutionary Press Day and the 2012 Nghe An Journalism Awards – became the gathering place for journalists in President Ho Chi Minh's homeland. For reporters and journalists, after a year of working tirelessly on the ground, focusing on topics that life and the people were waiting for, this reunion was a reward and a source of immense encouragement bestowed upon them by the Nghe An Provincial Party Committee and People's Committee. Everyone was happy and grateful to see each other, exchanging firm handshakes, sharing journalistic experiences, and discussing their favorite works.

Reluctantly leaving the meetings outside the hall, the reporters and journalists from Nghe An quickly settled into their seats and participated in the program commemorating the 88th anniversary of the Vietnamese Revolutionary Press Day and the awarding of the Nghe An Journalism Prize. The ceremony began with special songs and performances selected from the 3rd Journalists' Singing Festival, which had just been successfully held. The songs and voices of these "amateur singers" sounded both majestic and deeply moving. They sang with all their hearts, praising President Ho Chi Minh - the great revolutionary fighter, the great journalist, the founder of the Vietnamese revolutionary press; the Communist Party of Vietnam - the vanguard force steering the ship of revolution to success; and a beloved homeland, a homeland in Truong Sa and Hoang Sa that has never ceased to face the storms. Regarding the determination of journalists from President Ho Chi Minh's hometown who are working day and night to protect the Fatherland, the Party, and the people, and making positive contributions to the socio-economic development of the province.

Provincial leaders presented certificates of merit to the authors who won second prize.

The welcoming speech at the anniversary celebration, delivered by Comrade Nguyen Xuan Duong - Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee and Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, was an acknowledgment, appreciation, and honor for the press and journalists, while also encouraging and motivating journalists and media organizations.
The awards ceremony dedicated significant time to honoring journalists who have made substantial contributions to the development of the province's press; authors and journalistic works that have made positive contributions to promoting the image and position of Nghe An province during the period of integration and development, as well as meeting the increasingly high information needs of the people. Reporter Pham Bang (Nghe An Newspaper), despite only being in the profession for two years, has won the provincial journalism award in both years. Journalist Pham Bang shared his feelings: “Writing articles is difficult, but writing articles to win awards is even more challenging. However, when I write, I don't aim to win awards, but rather write with all the spirit of love for the profession, dedication to the work, and life experience… The award is an encouragement for me to further strive, cultivate my moral character, improve my professional skills, and especially strengthen my political resolve so that I can always remain steadfast in the face of temptations and changes in life, focusing my intellect to better serve the country and the public.”

At the ceremony, many journalists and reporters shared stories about their lives and careers. Journalist Le Thi Hien Chuong (Nghe An Radio and Television Station), winner of the third prize in the 2012 Nghe An Journalism Awards for her radio program "The Story of a Hmong Woman Following Uncle Ho's Teachings," always considers herself a daughter of the local people, so she doesn't mind the rain, sun, or the arduous mountain roads. Hien Chuong confided: "As a woman, working in journalism also presents many difficulties, but I think for a journalist, there is no greater joy than seeing your writing have a positive impact on society and receive feedback from the people..."

Reporter Hoang Tung (Labor & Social Affairs Newspaper correspondent in Nghe An) stated: In the strong flow and development of information, various forms of journalism are increasingly having a voice and a significant impact on society. Journalists in our province have demonstrated their responsibility to the country and society through their writing. Faced with pressing issues of life, journalists in Nghe An, with their intellect, enthusiasm, and dedication to their profession, have diligently investigated, uncovered the truth, and offered convincing assessments and solutions; helping viewers and readers gain a comprehensive view of the modern social landscape… They have been and are working with the concerns of the entire society.

Journalist Le Van Thang (Military Region 4 Newspaper) shared his impression: This year's Journalism Awards have featured many works closely related to political life and real-life situations. The entries reflect a diverse range of topics, including Party building, the "Learning and Following the Moral Example of Ho Chi Minh," exemplary individuals and good deeds, issues concerning agriculture, rural areas, and farmers, and negative aspects of life. All are reflected truthfully and objectively, from the perspective of journalists. Through this, the guiding and critical role of journalism has been effectively promoted.

Today's gathering has left valuable lessons for every journalist – I and many other journalists understand that: Journalists are like secretaries of life, they must adhere to the realities of people's lives; always upholding honesty, a pure heart, and responsibility towards the profession. The celebration of the traditional Journalism Day and the awarding of the Nghe An Journalism Prize has left a deep impression, so that in the journey ahead, each journalist will continue to be diligent and hardworking like a bee; for the sake of journalism – a difficult, arduous, and dangerous profession, but also one that is very glorious because it contributes to building a better life.
