Ly Nha Ky's rich life and the truth about 'not doing charity'
As one of the actresses with one of the most luxurious lives in showbiz, Ly Nha Ky is often complained by fans that she “doesn’t care about charity but only shows off her lavish eating and drinking all day long”. After being “educated” many times, Ly Nha Ky fought back.

The actress of "The Beauty and the Tycoon" expressed her indignation at the reaction of the online community: "No one has the right to interfere in the lives and interests of others if it does not violate the law. I want to speak up so that the audience never thinks that if they want to curse artists, they can, and if they curse, the artists have to endure it because as public figures, they have to accept both praise and criticism, love and hate."

Ly Nha Ky reacts when criticized for not doing charity but only living a virtual life. |
During the long break from the epidemic, in order to “spread positive energy”, Ly Nha Ky often shared her daily photos, including elaborately presented meals and meticulously cared-for virtual living corners in her newly built apartment. Almost immediately, many people spoke out against her and “taught” her that if she had extra money, she should use it for charity, not just enjoy it like that.
Ly Nha Ky said that in reality, she had been quietly doing charity work, supporting the fight against the epidemic and had been recognized by the authorities for a long time but did not share this. As a representative of the Romanian Consulate in Ho Chi Minh City, she was awarded a certificate of merit for Good People - Good Deeds by the Chairman of the Fatherland Front Committee of Ward 10, District 3 for her many outstanding achievements in supporting food for people during the fourth wave of the epidemic.

“When artists do charity work and share those actions, the audience says they are showing off and using charity to build their image. I don’t show off, I hide it, but they teach me to do charity work.”
She also explained her attitude of “not hesitating to show off beautiful photos”: “Helping and sharing silently is still sincere and comes from the heart, it is not necessary to shout on Facebook. Instead, I dedicate my personal page to spreading beautiful photos, delicious food, and positive energy to those around me. That does not violate the law, so there is no reason for me to be afraid of those who criticize me just because I do not live a sad and miserable life like them.”
During this pandemic, Ly Nha Ky chose to live in Saigon to run her business, complete her new villa, and join hands with the local community to support people in difficult circumstances instead of "hiding" on a farm to live slowly like before. She said: "I love Saigon because I am grateful to this land, grateful to my second homeland. In times of trouble, I think no one will sit still but will contribute in different ways to turn this pain into strength, supporting Saigon to be as strong as before."![]() |

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, Ly Nha Ky also declined an invitation to return to the red carpet of the Cannes Film Festival in France in July. "The epidemic situation in our country has not been controlled and many people's lives have been affected. Therefore, I feel that I cannot be selfish and dress up to be happy there without sharing the difficulties in the country. I think if I can't go to Cannes this year, I will go next year and go with a happier mindset. At this time, I just hope that the country and the Vietnamese people can overcome difficulties and return to normal life soon," the actress shared.
To deal with the frustration of not being able to go out, attend events, participate in game shows, produce movies... instead of struggling and complaining, Ly Nha Ky tries to adapt to the situation and takes advantage of the time to do useful things such as: learning new knowledge, practicing working skills, meeting online, listening to her emotions more... According to her, these things will help her not only gain knowledge, but also have more joy, confidence, and increase her self-worth. "Work will dispel boredom. Busy people like me often have little time to be sad," she affirmed.
To relax, Ly Nha Ky chooses to read positive news, meditate for 30 minutes every day, watch home designs, entertainment programs on TV, social networks... In her free time, she also learns many new games suggested by friends.
