Domestic SJC gold prices fell by 170,000 VND to 35.59 million VND/ounce, while world gold prices dropped by 24 USD to 1,190 USD/ounce.

This morning (October 4th), at the opening of the weekend trading session, the price of domestic SJC gold decreased by 170,000 VND/ounce compared to the closing price on October 3rd.

Specifically, according to the listing of Saigon Jewelry Company, the buying and selling price of gold is currently at 35.47 – 35.59 million VND/ounce. DOJI Group lists the gold price at 35.52 million VND/ounce (buying price). The selling price is 35.57 million VND/ounce.

The difference between the buying and selling price of gold in Hanoi is 50,000 VND/ounce; in Ho Chi Minh City, the difference is 120,000 VND/ounce.

On the global market, at the close of trading on October 3rd, the price of gold officially fell below the $1,200/oz mark after the US Department of Labor released positive employment figures for September.

Accordingly, the spot gold price on Kitco fell to $1,190/oz, down more than $24/oz from the previous trading session. The December gold futures price on the Comex exchange also fell $22/oz to $1,192/oz.

The U.S. Department of Labor reported that businesses added 248,000 jobs in September, significantly higher than the forecast of 215,000. At the same time, the unemployment rate fell to 5.9% in September.

Market analysts believe that optimistic signals about the US economy have reduced the attractiveness of gold. In addition, the US dollar index continued to rise yesterday, causing gold prices to fall sharply.

The current world gold price is equivalent to 30.49 million VND/ounce, which is 5.1 million VND/ounce lower than the domestic gold price.
