Former SLNA and U19 Vietnam players at risk of unemployment

Nguyen Van Duc is a product of SLNA training center, same class as 1993Que Ngoc Hai, Pham Manh Hung, Nguyen Sy Nam, Ho Sy Sam, Cao Xuan Thang, Ngo Xuan Toan, Dau Thanh Phong, Le Quang Dai... In the past, the player from Hung Nguyen (Nghe An) was a member of the Vietnam U19 team that participated in the 2012 AFC U19 Championship, under coach Mai Duc Chung.

Unfortunately, since being promoted to the SLNA first team, Nguyen Van Duc's career has not gone as expected. After "wearing out his pants" on the bench at Vinh Stadium (2014), Nguyen Van Duc became "redundant" in Hai Phong (2015 - 2019). After 6 seasons playing for SLNA and Hai Phong, Nguyen Van Duc only had 39 appearances in the V.League arena.

Last season, Nguyen Van Duc was a player for Tay Ninh. At this team, the 27-year-old defender was often used by coach Nguyen Dinh Hung. In addition to his usual position as right-back, Nguyen Van Duc can also play well as a left-back whenever required by the coaching staff. Tay Ninh's relegation record is largely due to the player from Nghe An.

Another detail that cannot be ignored is that in some matches, Nguyen Van Duc was given the captain's armband by the Tay Ninh coaching staff. That shows how important Nguyen Van Duc is to Tay Ninh. Don't forget, Nguyen Van Duc is just a "mercenary", not a "star" and is only in his first season playing for a team in the Southeast region.

However, at the end of the 2020 season, Nguyen Van Duc's contract was not renewed by Tay Ninh. Despite his great efforts in finding a new destination, Nguyen Van Duc is still unemployed. With what is happening in the Vietnamese football transfer market, the possibility of Nguyen Van Duc playing for a V.League team is extremely small.

However, the former U19 Vietnam player still has a chance in the 2021 National First Division, the tournament will officially start in early April next year./.
