Former Song Lam Nghe An player retires from football

Vuong Quoc Trung is a product of the training furnace.Lam River Nghe An, the same generation as Que Ngoc Manh, Le The Cuong, Tran Dinh Thang... Unfortunately, Vuong Quoc Trung did not have a chance to wear the shirt of his hometown team. During the seasons playing for Song Lam Nghe An, Vuong Quoc Trung's familiar position was on the bench.

Due to not having the opportunity to stay at Vinh Stadium, before the 2015 season, Vuong Quoc Trung agreed to join Hai Phong, as a free transfer. It can be affirmed that the time wearing the shirt of the Red Flamboyant City team (2015 - 2019) were the most memorable years in Vuong Quoc Trung's football career.

With a strong physical foundation, an ideal physique and a playing style that is not afraid of collision, Vuong Quoc Trung acts as a sweeper in the midfield area. In addition to the necessary skills of a central midfielder, the player from Vinh city also possesses powerful and highly accurate direct free kicks.

That is why Vuong Quoc Trung is always highly regarded by coach Truong Viet Hoang. Hai Phong's runner-up achievement in V.League 2016 is largely due to the former midfielder of Song Lam Nghe An. Thanks to his impressive performances in the Lach Tray Stadium team, Vuong Quoc Trung was called up to the Vietnam National Team by coach Toshiya Miura (2015).

After leaving Hai Phong, Vuong Quoc Trung played for Thanh Hoa Club, Song Lam Nghe An and most recently Phu Dong. At the end of the 2023 season, the contract between Vuong Quoc Trung and the Ninh Binh team officially expired. Instead of continuing to pursue a "shorts and shirt" career, Vuong Quoc Trung decided to "retire" at the age of 33./.
