Former U21 SLNA player seeks new opportunities in the port city
(Baonghean.vn) - After being fired by HAGL, central defender Nguyen Van Hanh decided to go to Lach Tray stadium for a trial.
Nguyen Van Hanh is a name that is not unfamiliar to experts and football fans in Nghe An. The central defender born in 1998 is a product of the SLNA training center. Like most other players, Nguyen Van Hanh used to play for SLNA youth teams (U19, U21...) to participate in the finals. Unfortunately, at the end of 2016, the central defender from Yen Thanh was not retained by the Nghe An team.
Leaving his hometown Nghe An, Nguyen Van Hanh sought opportunities at other teams such as People's Police, Binh Thuan, Ho Chi Minh City Club... However, no place welcomed the former SLNA U21 center back with open arms. Despite that, Nguyen Van Hanh's efforts also caught the eye of HAGL scouts. Hope glimmered again for the "rice hometown" center back.

Playing successfully for U21 HAGL at the 2017 National U21 Finals, Nguyen Van Hanh was registered by the mountain town team's management board to compete in the 2018 season. It did not take long for the 1998-born center-back to win the trust of coach Duong Minh Ninh. In the early stages of V.League 2018, Nguyen Van Hanh was the top choice for the center-back position of HAGL.
It seemed like everything would go in a positive direction for Nguyen Van Hanh, but a big incident happened. In round 13 of V.League 2018, in the match between HAGL and Quang Nam, the Nghe An player had a cold kick towards the opposing team's foreign player Douglas. VFF decided to suspend Nguyen Van Hanh for 3 matches and fine him up to 15 million VND. Not only that, because of this mistake, Nguyen Van Hanh's contract was also terminated by Mr. Duc.
Saying goodbye to HAGL, the 20-year-old central defender continues to wander on the journey to find new opportunities. Receiving an invitation from Hai Phong, Nguyen Van Hanh immediately brought his luggage to Lach Tray Stadium for a trial.
Over the past two weeks, the player from Yen Thanh has been training hard to prove himself. According to Nguyen Van Hanh, he and Hai Phong will most likely officially sign a contract next week.
Hopefully, after the stumbles, Nguyen Van Hanh will mature to become a leading central defender of Vietnamese football in the near future./.
