Former U21 Song Lam Nghe An player says goodbye to Hai Phong

Nguyen Van Hanhis a player who grew up at the Song Lam Nghe An training center, born in the same year as Nguyen Ba Duc and Nguyen Van Duc in 1998. However, unlike the two former teammates mentioned above, Nguyen Van Hanh was released from his contract by Song Lam Nghe An when he was a member of the U21 team and had just turned 18 (in 2016).

After a period of searching for opportunities in the People's Public Security, Binh Thuan and Ho Chi Minh City Club, Nguyen Van Hanh was unexpectedly accepted by the HAGL training center. With impressive performances in the HAGL U21 shirt at the 2017 National U21 Finals, Nguyen Van Hanh was registered by the mountain town team to participate in the 2018 season.

But the joy was short-lived, at the end of that season, Nguyen Van Hanh had to leave HAGL due to his contract being terminated. Receiving an invitation from Hai Phong's Board of Directors, Nguyen Van Hanh "carried his bags" to Lach Tray Stadium for a trial.

After a period of training with coach Truong Viet Hoang and his team, the Yen Thanh player was awarded a 3-year contract by the Hai Phong Board of Directors. At Lach Tray Stadium, Nguyen Van Hanh's career has turned a new page. Not only is he a regular in the Hai Phong starting lineup, Nguyen Van Hanh was also called up to the U22 Vietnam team by coach Park Hang-seo (in 2019). This is a worthy reward for the talent and tireless efforts of the Yen Thanh defender.

Unfortunately, various injuries have significantly affected Nguyen Van Hanh's performance. In fact, the 23-year-old player rarely plays in his favorite position of central defender, but instead plays as a left-back and central midfielder.

Overall, Nguyen Van Hanh’s time at Hai Phong was quite successful. Hopefully, the player born in 1998 will quickly find a new destination to develop his career./.
