Before experimenting with rabbit farming, Mr. Dung invested more than 200 million VND to convert nearly 1 hectare of ineffective rice land into fish and poultry farming. However, due to unstable prices and increasing feed costs, he had to suffer losses many times.
In mid-2015, Mr. Dung bought 12 pairs of rabbits worth 8 million VND to raise and breed. Due to lack of knowledge and experience in caring for them, after only 1 month, all the rabbits died. All the capital was also lost.
Undaunted, Mr. Dung went to the Livestock Breeding Center in Da Nang to learn about rabbit breeding techniques and care. After that trip, he continued to buy 20 rabbits for breeding. Now, after more than 1 year of successful breeding and breeding, CCB Nguyen Van Dung has developed a large-scale farm with a total herd of 700 rabbits, of which 120 to 130 are parent rabbits, the rest are commercial rabbits and baby rabbits.

Rabbits give birth to three litters a year. If the output is stable, raising rabbits will bring positive results. |
According to Mr. Dung's calculation, after about 3 months, baby rabbits can reach a weight of 2 - 2.2 kg/head, and his family can sell commercial rabbits once a month. With a market price of 90,000 - 100,000 VND/kg, in the past 3 months, his family has sold nearly 500 meat rabbits, earning a profit of over 90 million VND, after deducting expenses, the net profit is over 200 million VND/year.
Mr. Nguyen Van Dung shared: After having the breeding stock, I continued to borrow 150 million VND from the policy bank to renovate the barn, install lighting systems, heating lamps, cages and automatic water pipes. Raising rabbits is not difficult, but the care must be meticulous. To ensure the rabbits grow quickly, the food source must be hygienic, the barn must be designed to be warm in winter and cool in summer, and the barn must be cleaned regularly and the rabbits must be vaccinated against diseases...
* Get rich from planting forests and raising cows
After participating in the Laos battlefield to fight to protect the country, in 1981, Luong Van Xuyen was discharged from the army and returned to Na Chang village, Tien Phong commune (Que Phong) and started a family. Life was difficult and arduous, but with the will and courage of a soldier, he was urged to overcome difficulties to develop the economy and become rich.
In the early days, due to lack of capital and production experience, Mr. Xuyen's family's life was full of hardships. When the government had a policy of allocating forests to the people for management and protection, he boldly accepted 15 hectares of forest in Na Chang village. Through the Veterans Association, he borrowed 30 million to invest in planting cinnamon. Due to the limited capital, not enough to hire workers, he and his wife planted the entire forest area themselves.

After a period of care, the cinnamon forest area brought him and his wife more than 400 million VND. Realizing that cinnamon trees have high economic value, but take a long time to harvest, he decided to plant acacia. The first batch of acacia trees sold for more than 300 million VND, with the main income from planting forests, his family escaped poverty and became a well-off household. Currently, the second batch of acacia trees has entered its third year and is ready for harvest.
Along with planting forests, Mr. Xuyen also invested in raising cattle for commercial purposes. Currently, his family has over 20 cattle, selling 3 each year for nearly 100 million VND. His family also dug a pond to raise fish and raise chickens and pigs.
From his family's economic efficiency, Mr. Xuyen shared his experiences, propagated and mobilized members and people in the area to change the structure of crops and livestock to suit local conditions and terrain; helping people to eliminate hunger and reduce poverty, and stabilize their lives.
