(Baonghean.vn) - Participating in the implementation of the national target program on new rural construction, Nghe An veterans contributed more than 32,000 working days and donated more than 39,400 square meters of land to build rural roads.

On the morning of June 27, the Provincial Veterans Association held a preliminary review of the first 6 months of the year and deployed tasks for the last 6 months of 2019.

In the first 6 months of 2019, the provincial Veterans Association at all levels closely followed the situation and tasks, effectively organized and implemented the assigned tasks and work. Specifically, they performed well the task of participating in building and protecting the Party, the government, the socialist regime, and protecting the people. The movement "Veterans help each other reduce poverty and do good business" continued to be effective, contributing to improving and enhancing the lives of members.

One of the outstanding activities in the first 6 months of 2019 was exemplary participation in the implementation of the national target program on new rural construction, directly undertaking 217 projects with a total value of more than 6.73 billion VND. Some grassroots organizations took the lead in the environmental protection movement, contributing more than 32,000 working days, donating a total of more than 39,400 m2 of land and assets on land to build rural roads...

Typical in the movement of contributing working days and donating land to build rural roads are war veterans in the districts of Nam Dan, Nghi Loc, Con Cuong, Anh Son, Con Cuong, Nghia Dan, Thanh Chuong, Yen Thanh, Dien Chau. The whole province has up to 2,143 families of war veterans participating in donating land to build new rural areas.

The key task for the last 6 months of the year identified by the Provincial Veterans Association is to proactively grasp the situation, promptly advise, propose, coordinate effective handling, contributing to political and social stability. At the Conference, delegates gave many comments on the organization of the Association, management of member activities, promoting coordination in implementing movements and campaigns, strengthening criticism of mechanisms and policies, etc.

In his concluding remarks, Major General Nguyen Dinh Minh - Member of the Standing Committee of the Vietnam Veterans Association, Chairman of the Provincial Veterans Association, requested that all levels of the Association continue to promote activities, especially the movement of helping each other to eliminate hunger and reduce poverty, support housing construction, and ensure solidarity and cohesion among members.

On this occasion, the Conference elected an additional comrade to the Executive Committee of the Provincial Veterans Association.
