Nghe An veterans build nearly 6,900 traffic safety models
(Baonghean.vn) - Implementing the campaign "Veterans participate in maintaining traffic order and safety", the whole province built nearly 6,900 models with a total of 21,350 members participating.
On the afternoon of June 27, the Provincial Veterans Association and the Provincial Traffic Safety Committee held a 5-year review (2014 - 2019) of the joint program to implement the campaign "Vietnamese Veterans participate in maintaining traffic safety".
Attending the event were leaders of the Provincial Veterans Association, the Provincial Police; representatives of relevant departments, agencies and branches; representatives of Veterans Associations of districts, cities and towns and 22 typical collectives and individuals in the campaign "Vietnamese Veterans participate in maintaining traffic safety".
Over the past 5 years, the Veterans Association at all levels has organized nearly 1,700 sessions for more than 335,000 people, painted more than 200,000 slogans and banners to propagate traffic safety laws and traffic culture. Organized 672 training courses with 18,500 cadres participating.
Implementing the campaign "Veterans participate in maintaining traffic order and safety", the whole province has built 6,892 models with a total of 21,350 members participating. Of which, 3,935 are security and order teams; 2,029 "bright - green - clean - beautiful road sections"; 925 "Safe school gates"; 3 "Safe railway" models.

Among them, there are typical models such as "Self-management team for security and order and traffic safety" of the Association of War Veterans in Bao Thanh commune (Yen Thanh), Dien Tho (Dien Chau), Chau Quang (Quy Hop)... "Bright, green, clean, beautiful road" in Thanh Linh (Thanh Chuong), Tan Lac town (Quy Chau)...
Especially the model "Safe School Gate" at Quan Hanh Town Primary and Secondary School and Nghi My Commune (Nghi Loc); the model "Safe Railway Track" in Quynh Tan and Quynh Van Communes (Quynh Luu), Nghi Kim Commune (Vinh City)...

At the conference, comrade Nguyen Dinh Minh - Chairman of the Provincial Veterans Association received a Certificate of Merit from the Provincial People's Committee for outstanding achievements in the movement to protect national security in 2018; 3 collectives and 3 individuals received Certificates of Merit from the Provincial People's Committee; 3 collectives and 13 individuals received Certificates of Merit from the Provincial Veterans Association for outstanding achievements in participating in maintaining traffic order and safety.
On this occasion, the Veterans Association and the Provincial Traffic Safety Committee organized the approval and signing of the Program to coordinate the implementation of the campaign "Vietnamese Veterans participate in maintaining traffic order and safety and building traffic culture (period 2019-2023)".
